2 HOUR LOADING TIME - FAILED

Post by sexykorgpa800 »

I tried loading a 105mb file onto my Korg Pa2x.

I waited 2 hours and the screen kept saying "please wait" and my USB's light was still blinking as if it was loading.

I gave up after 2 hours. Never have I ever encountered a wait time this long to load a set!

Yes, I did erase all of the other files (sound, styles, pcm, pads, etc.) before loading the set and yes my pa2x is updated to it's latest version.

What's going on? Help.

Thanks.

Just checking...
Loading from a USB flash drive (or PC?)
Loading how? - Copy? Or loading a huge ".SET"

You mention "set" and I am guessing you were loading as opposed to copying...

Backup the SET and then remove the PCM folder - try the load again - should be fairly quick
At least this will establish that the other folders are not corrupted....

Was this entire SET completely created on your keyboard?

Thanks...
Hoping to help....

Hello,

Thanks for your quick response!

I tried loading form a USB flash drive (high quality flash drive) to the pa2x.

It's an actual .SET (105mb).

This set was not created on my keyboard. It's a set given to me from someone else and they do not know what keyboard it was originally made in, but we are assuming a Pa2x!

Over 2 hours now and it still has not yet loaded.

Screen says "please wait" and USB flash drive is blinking (indicating to me it is still loading).

What should I do?

As you don't know anything about its origin I would be assuming there is some incompatibility or corruption in the SET.

It is very hard to help you really due to this - you are dealing with the "unknown".

Did you try loading the components separately (STYLES, PERFORMANCES etc...)

Be aware that if the GLOBAL is in the set and you don't know where it came from then this could cause you problems.
GLOBAL is NOT compatible between any Korg arranger on the PA2XPro

Suggestion:-
In MEDIA mode, OPEN the SET, highlight STYLE and then press load
Then try PERFORMANCEs
you might want to remove the PCM section (copy the SET first) and then try to load SOUND
then try SONGBOOK

Let us know the results but DO NOT load GLOBAL - it is well worth your deleting/removing this from the SET first.

Cheers

- This might be your first mistake , latest Pa2X version prevents from loading some old version Pa Sets so reload older OS version if possible.
- Copy this.SET in your Pa2X HD open it and try to load only file SOUND !
- If it will last more than 20 minutes , turn off your Pa2X , restart open again SET / open SOUND and load Sound Banks 1 up DK one by one
until you discover which bank is corrupted and avoid it next time , in that case you can salvage some of sound resources !
- If succeed , then load respectively STYLES, PERFORMANCE and PAD files only and you got back your SET !
- In any case first resave this set under new name and then update OS !

Hope this helps
