Sound Edit save only... How?

Post by citytrader »

Hello to all, I have modified the Grand Piano with sound edit but when I turn off the keyboard I the changes are lost, is there any way to save only the changes in the sound editor?... I don't want to write the sound to a new bank because I cant keep tracking of what modifications I did (Attack, decay, release, etc)...
If anyone can help me I will really apreciate!

Is common sense, if you don't save it, is not remember.
you got 2 ways, 1. save way, save as new sound in new location, or 2-nd overwrite (save in same location).
If this is Factory sound , you need unlock protection in global for overwriting.
when you save it all parameters (Attack, Decay, Release ..etc)
will be set in center position.

more in manual :
Korg Pa600 on Page #109 wrote:Realtime Controls area
Controls in this area allow you to edit the main parameters of the
Sounds assigned to each track. Touch one of them, and modify
its value by using the VALUE DIAL controls (or moving your
finger).
Note: All values refer to the original values of the Sound.
Note: When selecting the Write Sound command from the page
menu, current parameter values, after editing the Realtime Controls,
are saved with the Sound. After saving, Realtime Controls are
set back to the default position.
Note: After selecting a different Sound, Realtime Control values
are automatically set to zero.

This keyboard is not common sense :) ... thanks for your reply but is not what I'm looking for, because after you save all the controls are set to zero.

I want to retain the values, for example, I have a Grand Piano and I modify attack to +20 (is an example), I want to save that Grand Piano with the attack showing +20, so in the future if I don't like that, I can modify it with the reference of +20 (not zero). If the controls go to zero how can I track the changes?

Because you try to adjust in wrong place.
that's Realtime Controls.
Realtime Controls is not where you should modify your sound, Realtime Controls is design to work in realtime using midi messages from track or external controls.
Try to adjust in OSC area, then is going to show differences.

BTW, Korg Pa600 is perfectly common sense. :), just try to understand how all works.

That values are retained, what I don't understand is to get the same effects when I modify Cutoff and Resonance... I there any way to know which values those two sliders modify?

What you see in Realtime Controls is set of controls same for all sounds, is Post effects rack which is use to control without changing originals.
You can find same effects inside OSC setting, but difference is Realtime Controls is changing all same time.
Cutoff --->Filter cutoff. This sets the sound brightness. CC#74
Resonance ---->Filter Resonance boost the cutoff frequency. CC#71

That are midi controllers, I did not find a way to modify that in my PA600, in the menu I have: BASIC, PITCH, FILTER, AMP, LFO, EFFECTS... do you know where to modify Cutoff and Resonance in them?

In Filter, cutoff is same as Low Pass Resonance.
there try to solo OSC, and edit each OSC to get what you need.

Thanks again for your time, I did it and worked (LPF frequency and resonance) and it is a mess doing it manually because I have to config each OSC and for piano RX that are 15... it will be nice if the realtime configuration could maintain its values, much easier than configuring the OSC's one by one :)

For save global track 'sound effects' ( only few like attack, sustain, cut-off,rev-send etc...) save performance or save current style( non real time track) or save STS if you wanna use them in STS
