AC powered CD writer

Post by fjs714 »

Hi Fellas,
The CD writer on my computer is old and shot. I wanted to connect my Memory card reader to an AC powered CD/DVD writer via USB connection. This way I don't need to use the computer at all. The CD writer would read the WAV music on my memory card and burn a CD
Do they make them?
Thanks Frank

Sounds likes something the Roland CD-2u does.

Pretty stupidly expensive though for what little it does, but that's the price devices like this go for when you don't want to use a PC.

Regards
Sharp.

James, You're killing me. $600+
It seems the unit records to Memory cards from CD's. I would like something that does the reverse. Stick in a Memory card with a wav or Mp3 file and burn it to a CD without having to connect it to a computer
Thanks Frank

If it's a desktop pc just replace the CD writer, or ask someone to do it for you. If a laptop, try and find a compatible replacement part. Alternatively, get a USB-powered writer. Some use an extra USB connector to parallel up the power. Nero, Roxio, or any number of other CD/DVD-writing software makes creating CDs a breeze. Windows and MacOS also have CD writing functionality integrated into the file browser so fairly straightforward to use.

That's exactly what it does.

Check out page 95 of the Manual. "Selecting Songs from an SD Memory Card to Create a CD"

You do realise your KRONOS has this function too? You could connect a €50 Portable USB CD Burner directly to your KRONOS burn Audio CD's all you like.
