Post by jairly »

I'm trying to make the LFO turn on for one bar, then off for one bar. So, rate on 32, intensity to max, on triangle wave you get a fade in out (say, the LFO is affecting the AMP) over a two bars. Turn it to square wave, and it doesn't do anything.

With a single continuous note, it gets it - you have one bar at full volume, one bar at none. But if you have multiple notes, it seems like each one resets the LFO, and it doesn't do anything unless the note is longer than the rate of the LFO. Which is weird because it works with triangle wave.

Any found a way around this?

There's no way to change it, but there is an explanation for the behaviour. The lfo on the Bass syncs to note when in square mode, so it restarts itself with every new note. That's why you can't have that slow moving lfo in square shape, but there's actually a great good for that: keysynced lfo set to square wave is a foundation for many pulsing grooves. Using this trick you can add a kind of gated effect to the sequence, simulate seq resolution changes and overall spice up the groove. Hope that was an answer for the question.
