Whatever works for you is what's best. Not trying to evangelize the Circuit - I don't even have mine yet.captain johnson wrote: You're right, the electribes could have had more, im still hoping they can tbh! but using them with volcas is great, simple but effective. The aftertouch thing seems to be a gripe for reviewers in places too.the modulation on E2's is way handy I agree. Maybe Im too simplistic but I like the limitations in a way but I hate the voice stealing, using the volcas as sound modules through EMX solves a lot of this for me.
I kinda get why they are locking the software update thing, they have to protect their products FW, however some people are hopeful this means there is an actual big update coming as they are solidifying the update system.......
With any luck, Korg has some big behind the scenes plans. Maybe they don't. Either way, I hope Korg developers don't think the user base is hectoring them - but the expectations for gear in the age of flashable firmware has changed.
Expectations are even higher with instruments that are supposed to serve constantly evolving genres like electronic dance stuff. Some new technique or sound becomes important - will the electribes be competitive in 2 years?
My hope is that limited card-only sample playback is added to the e2, the expanded filters are added to the es2. Also, a shift parameter for insert effects, filter keyboard tracking, and autoglide mode. Plus bug fixes and any improvements to voice stealing are addressed. That would be huge.
The Circuit seems to be the biggest competition to the electribe series, and although the C is more limited in some ways, the difference in development is stark. And the synthesis is deep.
