Korg M1, T2 Samples for Kronos?? (UNIVERSE)
Hello,
Im wondering if anyone has the Universe sample or the one that came on the Korg T2 that sounded like universe. Im wanting to use it for my Kronos. I havent found anybody selling those samples only for Kontakt. If i were to buy the samples for kontakt is there any way to convert them for my Kronos?

You could buy the KORG M1 Legacy Collection for $50, it's a standalone VST, contains all of the M1 factory sounds plus 19 ROM cards worth of expansion. If you have audio/MIDI interface (or connect USB MIDI from Kronos), you can just play that through the Kronos. I think that is your best option at the moment. I have it, Universe sounds great.

All your mac sounds will come out of the Kronos audio outputs, no mixer required.
The companions I can't live without: Kawai Acoustic Grand, Yamaha MontageM8x, Studiologic Numa Piano X GT.
Other important stuff: Novation Summit, NI Komplete Ultimate 14 CE, Omnisphere, EW Hollywood Orchestra Opus, Spitfire Symphony Orchestra, Pianoteq 8 Pro, Roland RD88.

you can reproduce the Universe sound in Kronos, if you can locate the rhythmic Lore sample online, the bubbling looping sound effect comprising half of the Universe patch. The other osc is a choir sound, no shortage of those in Kronos. There is a pitch EG on the Lore wave, making it speed up and slow down over time. The other sound you mentioned from the T2 might be Aeroglide (a lube brand?), which uses a basic voice pad, and the MagicOrgan sample, which is in the Wavestation bank part of the main Kronos sample ROM. There is a slight rising pitch EG on the MagicOrgan.

I have a lot of the M1/T3 raw samples (choir and lore included) if that can help.
I never bothered to actually build the patch on any other kbd because I have the T3 and the Legacy collection also, so when I need those sounds, ill just use that.
However, keep in mind that no matter what you do it will never sound exactly like is coming from the M1/T3 outputs. A lot of the warmness an character of the sound comes fom the synths system (filters, d/a's, and component's)
It obviously helps if the raw samples are resampled raw (without envelopes, lfo's or effects) thru the synth's outputs.
I have all the T disks and I've extracted the bare raw samples from them. While they sound ok, they are incredibly short and sound very raw. No matter how well I program the patch in other system with them, they don't sound quite the same.
Hell, even the legacy M1 doesn't sound exactly like the original

oaibarra, check your PMoaibarra wrote:Could you pass me the raw sounds? I'm really fascinated with that beautiful sound and I know it won't sound the same. I had a Korg m1 and got rid of it to upgrade to a Kronos but I did not have the time to sample those sounds.
Thanks!!!
