Cannot Load Files Using User Direct

A friend of mine asked the question below.

I have Korg factory styles from other Korg arrangers, Pa1x, PA80 and Pa3x My PA4X will not see these.

I have them on a thumb drive and use the Direct Access feature. It "sees" the folders but will not recognize what is inside the folders.

However if you use the media button and load them the old way not "direct" of loading a style there are files within the folder.

Why can't they be loaded to audition the styles thru the direct method?

With respect, maybe your friend does not understand the "Direct Access" function of the PA4X.
Direct Access works brilliantly....

I suggest you point him to this link and the PA4X manual (Page 923+) and then come back with further questions if needed.

Pete, Thanks for the reply. I believe my friend and I both understand Direct Access, I've used it for other files, but these specific set of folders those folders show up as empty. With that said let me ask you this, have you seen this happen?

This article assumes the PA4X "Sees" or recognizes what is in a folder on the thumb drive. But, what causes the PA4X not to "See" what are factory styles downloaded from the Korg website?

Hi,

Just a hint: maybe your friend is trying to access high-numbered Favorite banks, no longer directly supported by Pa4X? As written in the User Manual,

"Favorite Style banks over #10 are missing and are not loaded. Since Pa4X banks are larger, load the individual Styles into the additional locations of the other banks."

Be sure the original SET folder is not modified, or Pa4X will not be able to recognize it as a Pa-Series data structure.

By re-reading your original message, I understand that your friend cannot read the Factory Styles.
The Direct function only shows User/Favorite locations, but not Factory Styles.
