Karma Arpeggiator in Set List

Post by nastri83 »

Hi Everyone,

I think what I want is pretty simple but I CANNOT figure out how to do this. I use set list to switch between combis.

- Combi 1 has an arpeggiated bass through Karma.
- Combi 2 has a straight bass with NO arp.

I would like to switch from Combi 1 to Combi 2 smoothly (slightly ahead of time, while holding the last arp bass note). Hold Time doesn't work with Karma apparently (I'm assuming this is because the midi note is released, negating the hold time function).

Is there any way this can be done? How do people switch from an arpeggiated combi to a non-arpeggiated combi smoothly with the Kronos?

All I can think of is you manually increase the decay as you switch? You're correct that the Karma and drum tracks are released - it's listed as being one of the limitations of smooth sound - so it'll have to be a switched control or manual parameter setting using whatever suits to hold it maybe??

Unfortunately I'm doing too much to switch anything on manually during the patch change. If it was some parameter I could keep on, that would work. If it's a monophonic bass patch, could I keep the decay parameter up and have it transfer from patch to patch?

I'm trying to configure this now and the Repeat:Decay function doesn't seem to do it either. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong parameter?

Sorry, it would be the Release - Decay is no good unless you're still holding the key down. #-o

Apart from a foot-switch to change the release on the note (if you can do it) I'm at a loss myself - sorry bud.

Surely somebody here knows a way around this?

Yeah switching to an additional patch with high release might do it?

Switch arp

Post by siwaj11 »

Hi, just want to give you a tip. hope this will help. my suggestion is, instead of switching 2 combis with the same patch.
why don't you use singel combi or make a custom combi with your desire Bass tone assigned on the timbres and set the karma accordingly.

scene 1 arpeggiate bass
scene 2 arpeggiate bass off

or you just simply use the on/off KARMA switch to toggle the arpeggiator. It makes sense right?

Cheers
