E2 - Audio In with FX

Hello, there was some topic here about using effects with guitar through audio input, but I think that was for E2 Sampler, I have the gray one, and today i was trying to do this with my electronic drums through the audio input, but nothing happened..Is this for the sampler only?

I do it with the sampler but it should work with the grey tribe too. Make sure to set your oscillator to audio in, turn off midi thru, light up all the pads on the channel in sequencer mode, tie all of the steps together, and last but not least, make sure to hit play on the electribe.

Good luck. This is one of the best features of the new electribes in my opinion. I use it more as a guitar FX processor than I do as a groovebox, and I have barely touched my guitar pedals since I discovered this little trick.

Indeed. You can get some really interesting sounds out of it when you start stacking up the modulation effects, the IFX and the MFX. The reverbs sound nice applied to a guitar tone, the grain and vinyl stop effects produce some sounds that you can't get on conventional pedals, and the high pass delay is probably my favourite for guitar as you get a nice delay without the bottom end muddying up.

Best thing about it is you can set the audio in osc on all 16 channels if you're only using it as an FX processor, and switch between them or stack them up and pan them across the spectrum. Very cool.

I run my tribe and guitar through a Pioneer DJM 700 mixer, which is output to the tribe audio in, and I have a multi-FX guitar processor on the send/return channel, so I can apply some more conventional guitar effects to the sound either before it goes into the tribe or to the output of it. Endless possibilities for guitar tones. The tricky part is remembering how I created a sound that I like and want to revisit.

Just save it as a pattern and label it Guitar FX1 or something such.

That's what I've done Roblabs, I have a template saved with all my favourite tones, but the problems arise when I run those through external FX pedals etc. I try to write down all the settings etc but my studio is full of notes and it's hard to find something amongst them all. It's not a big deal really, I just need to be more organised.
