@AntonySharmman,
Only when and a Style has "Original Sound Set" square (8 tracks/TRK.SEL) blank you have to edit track intruments in
"Style Play" mode since "Record" mode informations are ignored !!!
I agree with all you explained about taking report of all tracks and I know what you mean and yes I spent about a month only to take notes of my styles Element Tracks sounds and then I started combining the set. That was for my Pa900 last year and it worked for 80% of the styles. I did all steps as you described except I did not pay attention to the "Original Sound Set" square if it was checked or not while doing my reports, I learned something and thanks.

Now I am going to give another try at Pa4x and combining 3 remaining styles that caused the problem with the difference that I am going to pay attention to this "Original Sound Set" square if it's checked or not, in despite of what I said before about giving up...:D

So last question just to make sure I understood everything correctly before trying:

1- While taking the report of all Styles Tracks Element' sound if the Style has "Original Sound Set" square blank (Unchecked) I have to edit track instruments in "Style Play" Mode?
2- If the "Original Sound Set" square is not blank (Checked) so I have to do the same job in Style Record Mode?

Thanks

That's right
2- If the "Original Sound Set" square is not blank (Checked) so I have to do the same job in Style Record Mode?
Not the same job ... you do not edit tracks at all at "Style Play" mode , only at Record mode

and I will write again that :
Only when and a Style has "Original Sound Set" square box blank (while at 8 tracks/TRK.SEL) , you must edit track intruments
only in "Style Play" mode since "Record" mode track sounds will be ignored in that case , so there is no meaning to edit
track sounds there !!!

If still face issues with some styles then read my last post here http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... 885#692885

Before I go on, I'd like to point out something. I did a factory restore on my pa4x and then randomly loaded 5 or six internal factory styles and they all had the "Original Sound Set" square (8 tracks/TRK.SEL) checked. I then look at the style that I am trying to get from SETA into SETB, that too had the same box checked. So I am not clear on the significance of this check box but I do follow the instructions by you on "Record/Edit current style/menu /Track Elements control"

After reading the sections offered by you here

Pa4X/User Manual English link:
http://www.korg.com/us/support/download ... /516/2572/

on page# 153 Advanced editing of the Sound sets, I did not see anything there that could offer a solution unless I am missing something.

I did however saw some related info on my previous document URL

http://www.korgpa.com/images/stories/pd ... glish).pdf

but this doc has been removed.

So I am still at the same stage as before. The process does work up until a certain point.

I did however noticed something rather odd and I belived if I try to explain you may be able to determine the cause which may explain what my issues are. So here it is

I loaded my customized set and bring up one of the styles, lets call it STYLEC. Under the 8 tracks/TRK.SEL, I noticed that under the DK track it showed me DRUM_KIT1 with some address lets say "002" (to the most right hand corner". I press the icon and now I am in the DK selection list where I can select various other DKs. I see that right below the DRUM_KIT1 there was another one called DRUM_KIT2. I would think these two should be distinct and so I removed DRUM_KIT2. As soon as I came out of the DK page to the track select , I notice that the DK icon of the STYLEC now shows empty which does not make sense but I think has a significance on my issues.

Thanks

1. This document is for Pa3x not Pa4x.
2. Was not removed, just move to different site
is saying there where to look.
You can go directly to the download page following this link
http://www.korg.com/download

Please update you bookmarks.
Enjoy the new web site!
3. here is link to exactly same document there (Pa3x Advanced Edit manual)
http://www.korg.com/us/support/download ... /307/2229/
4. In Korg pa4x they did a lot of changing, so I'm not sure if you following Pa3x manual will help.

hforough first of all Download last "Pa3x Advanced Edit manual" from my link here : http://bit.ly/29oOya3
hforough wrote:So I am not clear on the significance of this check box
As I wrote in my initial post , every factory style has been made in "Record mode' with the option to change
track sounds in every Intro/Var/Fill/Ending and in this case "box" is always checked in "Style Play" mode
unless you change even one instrument in "Style Play" and then save style , in that case all 'Record mode"
properties of track sound changes will be lost !

I will try a Noob example :
Let's say you have a custom style where this was programmed as follow :
Variation 1 : uses Drumkit UserDK 01 and Bass User1:01 sound
Variation 2 : uses as Dr track a time sliced percussion that is saved as SMF in User3:20 DK 05 and Bass User2:05 sound
Ending 1 : uses UserDK 10 and a factory slap Bass

Now if while in "Style Play" mode you click on Dr & Bass tracks icon , change those two sounds with a facrory x DK
and a factory y Bass sound and then just save style there ...
then when this style will be selected again , "box" of "Original Sound Set" will be blank and the whole style will play
only with those 2 factory sounds you had changed , Dr & Bass tracks will not change in any of Var 1,2 & Ending as were
programmed and especially variation 2 that uses a time-sliced sample will turn your style into a sonic circus ...
This is the meaning of "box" !!!

BTW : It's my last attempt to learn users basics that owe to know from manuals !
