New to PA600, are there anyway to install better sounds ?

Post by musicmansamuelwong »

Greetings,

Im a liveband keyboardist, just got my PA600 from a friend last night.

I was wondering, am I able to install / load / save any much realistic sampled piano and brass sound on my PA600 ?

Thanks !

You could try this set of Pianos (about 29mb). It includes Steinways courtesy of Antony Sharmman and modified Grand Touch released by Korg.

Alternatively - and this is what I'm doing a lot these days - if you have a fairly up to date iPhone or iPad you can connect it to your Pa600 and play lots of free sounds from the Internet such as these Soundfont files
https://sites.google.com/site/soundfonts4u/
Using an app from Bismark called bs-16i

These instructions are for the SteinGrandTouch set - not the Soundfonts.
Unzip the file (in Windows right-click and choose Open with...Windows Explorer) and copy the .Set folder to a USB stick.
In Media Menu choose Load Tab and navigate to the .Set.
If you load the set it will put 16 pianos into the first 16 User 1 Sounds. Alternatively you can drill down to the individual sounds and load them to a location of your choice (by selecting Open, Open...User 1, Open... and Load when you see the sound name).
These sets contain sound data only so there are no Global or other folders to upset your keyboard. As always you should perform a Save All or Full Backup before loading.
Best,
John
