Pa3x or pa4x?

Post by Xx_Joey_xX »

Hello all

I own a a pa3x, I can get a decent deal on a used pa4x I was wondering what are the main upgrades from pa3x to pa4x?
Also how much sample memory does the pa4x have?

Also I will be adding a sound module to use with the pa4x if I get it.
Certain style elements I will be miding from module.

Any feed back would be appreciated.

Thanks.

2 things are huge:
Screen - SO much better
Piano sound - best on the market

Well i prefer the screen of the 3x but for sure the touch panel of pa4x is the best as it is capacitive touch and not resistive as the older models...
Sound wise in every category the pa4x outperforms the pa3x with eyes closed!
Speaking in mb's Pa3x -> 256mb (uncompressed=512mb) ,pa4x-> ~5,1gb uncompressed streamed... The numbers are talking without even hearing the result...
Also the sound is clearer as the engine most probably has been updated in dsp calculations bit depth (was 16bit and must now be 24bit)...
Also pa4x is waaaay faster than 3x..
Another good reason to buy 4x is ram memory as it is 400mb raw or 800mb compressed (a lot bigger than the 3x)...
So i suggest, if the price is good get the 4x and sell your 3x..!

...plus:
Overall sound is outstanding
Improved and many new sounds
Fabulous styles - many new and the older ones sound so much nicer
Excellent drums
New OS - nicer and more logically designed for performing and recording
New "keyboard-set" feature
New set-list display
Chord looping with save option
Greatly improved tone wheel drawbar organ and rotary fx
The screen of course
Outstanding strings and orchestral sounds
Love the e-pianos!
Direct access - play styles direct from external or internal disk
SD card option
More style and sound configuration storage (bank-slots etc)
New additional DNC for authentic dynamics of many sounds
.....and more

IMHO a great improvement to its predecessor

SO SO glad I took the plunge and bought one
Cheers

Major mistake. With so many outstanding bugs in pa4x I would keep my 3x for at least another year.
