I would check your pedals/controllers. Global/ controllers
Headphones output and Left/Right main outputs share the same signal. So whatever is sounding from the main out in back should be the same as the headphone jacks..... Except that the headphone plug does stereo via one plug. The Left and Right main outputs pair up using two plugs to give stereo.
You probably heard the mono signal difference in the rear panel mono outputs when you tried it out, but some times when headphone/wires go bad, its one side of the stereo line that goes bad. So you will hear the distortion or silence from the bad side when plugged into the single stereo headphone output. But when you plug it into the L or R main which are individually mono, you may not hear from the bad half of the headphones stereo line because half the stereo signal is missing anyway.
And since you say its distortion rather than silence, it could be interference between the two sides of the wire's stereo signal, such as touching. When you plug it into mono, one side of the stereo signal goes dead and the interference can cancel out when the two stereo wire sides carry the same mono signal.
This problem i described is what you want to have, because it means you go get a new pair of headphones. Go find or borrow a good pair to test and see if the problem goes away and then you know its the headphones. Maybe don't get a new pair just to test , but take the headphones you have and plug em into other stereo devices like your radio, phone or computer. Be sure you test it in a stereo output to get a full stereo test..
If your suspect headphones work well in other devices, you may have a bug in your kronos plug or moisture.
I checked Global settings and other output routing options and Nothing refers to headphone output. Only L/R which shares the same signal to Headphones. It doesnt seem like a routing setting issue.
Maybe a kid stuffed a Booger in the plug hole? It happens sometimes
