Touch screen adjustments
Having trawled through the forums and guides without any luck can anyone tell me if it is possible to adjust the viewing angles of the touch screen? Or is the screen fixed without any editing capacity
The Kronos' screen brightness can be adjusted from the LCD Setup menu in the Global top right screen drop-down, and this may be used to give some improvement to particular viewing situations, but the viewing angle of the screen type used is fairly wide (over 90 degrees) and no contrast adjustment is possible. The screen brightness default is maximum.
The Oasys had a tiltable screen, as do a few of the other Korg offerings, like the Pa4X, and the Kronos 2 screen is very slightly tilted up at the back, relative to the top panel.

Thank you...i guess my only other option is to view the screen information via korg editor in logic? I'm still on version 3.0.2 which I'll update tonight...voip wrote:The Kronos' screen brightness can be adjusted from the LCD Setup menu in the Global top right screen drop-down, and this may be used to give some improvement to particular viewing situations, but the viewing angle of the screen type used is fairly wide (over 90 degrees) and no contrast adjustment is possible. No, it isn't. It's totally parallel to the top panel. Kong really should have made it adjustable. It's bad for the neck to crane over the screen for long periods - which is what happens when you work on the sequencer for a while.voip wrote:The Kronos' screen brightness can be adjusted from the LCD Setup menu in the Global top right screen drop-down, and this may be used to give some improvement to particular viewing situations, but the viewing angle of the screen type used is fairly wide (over 90 degrees) and no contrast adjustment is possible. Not having the tilt screen was not a casual omission. It is connected to cost.
What is a tilt screen worth in additional price for the Kronos ?

I use a couple of wedge shaped wooden pieces to lift the rear of the Kronos, thus the screen and everything becomes more visible and usable. Actually after lifting the back about 15-20 degrees from the horizontal plane, the keys are almost parallel to the ground.
Korg KronosX73, Kurzweil PC3K6, Roland V-Synth GT, Kawai K5000S, Waldorf Blofeld, Novation Ultranova, Behringer Neutron, Yamaha HS80M, Boss Micro BR80, Zoom H6, Sony PCM D100, Tascam DP32SD, Mackie 1202VLZ4, Zoom MS-70CDR, Rode NT1, Sony MDR 7506.
Having my Kronos on a table/desk,I have also placed wooden supports, under the rubber feet, on the rear end to raise the keyboard….keys horizontal etc.
This helps with the screen viewing angle as well.
If the Kronos rested on all four of its own rubber feet on a flat, level surface…the keys slant upward from the front edge in an "unnatural" way, looks and feels quite odd.
Could replace the feet to suit,of course….haven't got around to doing so…yet.
Alternatively ,using a keyboard stand would be much better, whenever possible, which could provide further angle adjustment.
(Currently, not got the space to do this and to include other gear etc).
My only "gripe" is with the actual font size, especially in combie mode, due to the amount of on screen information etc;but it's the way it is and can get easier with practice......

Some how i suspect this veiwing angle issue is directly proportional to the viewers height.
I sit tall over the keyboard and never even imagine an issue with screen view. Just a slight lean forward and i seem to see directly over the screen.
Tier stacking would definitely be an issue with kronos at the bottom, and maybe even worse for taller people.

The only times I have problems viewing the screen is when I have an outdoor gig while the sun is still up. I know some have created cardboard visors to shield the sun for this reason.
When the Kronos is the only keyboard I'm playing, then it sits flat, but if it's on the second tier of a stand it is tilted so I can still see the screen. My back does tend to get tired after programing for long periods though.
