Volca Sample - Velocity & Triggering via MIDI

I'm trying to use the Volca Sample as a drum module.

I have: pads with piezo mics going into a midi interface, heading to the Volca Sample midi input. - - NO LAPTOP ONSTAGE - -

I want: the volca sample to track velocity. Is this possible? Is there a work around? Will this Retrokits cable work?-> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvzSG8Zkezw

retrokit will work. you can also use midipipe (if connected to a computer)

Or check that also based on an Arduino. Velocity is mapped to CC Volume channel because the Vocal doesn't support velocity. So you have to adjust the volume with the main potentiometer....
