E2S sold it after 3 wks-samples cutoff when changing pattern
Shame. I liked everything about the E2S besides the one flaw that makes it unusable to me. Samples getting cutoff when patterns change is such a terrible flaw. Sold this, and am never looking back. I don't trust Korg anymore.

Yet another post that proves that it takes a musician and not a fanboy synth hobbyist to get it done.

kudos to u if ur a pro musician; we know great music can be made on both electribes.BubbleTrailsMusic wrote:Yet another post that proves that it takes a musician and not a fanboy synth hobbyist to get it done.
i was able to make some good beats on it; but i found certain things about it irritating; and i see no reason to deal with limitations that have been designed into the electribe for no reason.
so i just went back to the mpc studio; in 2016 the workarounds and restrictions they are unnecessary cos the availability of technology is much higher than it was back in the 80's and 90's
so we should not have to adjust to limitations that are artificially imposed they need to spec s**t better; for instance apple cant release a phone 32 MB memory in 2016 its not appropriate for the features and tech and user requirements of the day.
so when korg design instruments they need to spec s**t around user requirements and not cut corners and costs and force people to downgrade their operational expectations to confirm to the poorly designed device

But e2 still can do a lot for 400 dollars. Sure many options you can use with computer to have nearly no limitations for the same price. And of course e2 is not the best pro production tool. But for me it works pretty well, I mostly use it for drum drafts and sound fx. I just kind of like that type of workflow. But I'm not a pro guy though if this is so important
Korg R3, EMX1, volca keys, minikp 2, electribe 2, prologue, karp oddy, dns 12, all ios apps.
It's awful. I think the only reason Korg keeps on doing these things that totally neuter their products is because of how complacent the vast majority is who keep buying.
The E2S chops sample playback off as soon as a pattern changes as well as all types of bad glitches when insert effect are used. The E2S wasn't designed with the idea that a song might consist of more than one pattern.
The Volca series only offer 16 pattern memory at most. If this number were at least 64, they would be far more usable (for live gigs). Why are they only limited to 16 pattern memory. How much do you think it would cost to implement as much memory as the Zoom drum machines from over a decade ago did?
The Minilogue. If sequences transitioned smoothly with patch changes (switch exactly when the first pattern ends without any glitches/gap), 16 step patterns could effectively be chained to however many you want. This is a very basic/common feature found on synths like the DSI Evolver. Why does the Minilogue lack this ability?

I did make some ok beats with it but the best way to overcome was by using a better tool; cos i honestly dont often make beats on the bus, train or plane, hotel , etc.1_inch_punch wrote:Oh dear.
That's a problem you will need to overcome yourself.
Best of luck there.
make all my beats at home in close proximity to the the computer so mpc studio was the better choice.

So what's next to replace it? An Octatrack??
Sep 2016: just opened a soundcloud a/c: https://soundcloud.com/user-793524974/
will stick with mpc studio, and when mpc 2.0 is available will get an mpc touch.WestLondoner wrote:So what's next to replace it? An Octatrack??
but for true standalone there is no suitable replacement; unless roland drops this fabled acb sampler at winter namm (which I still belive exists)
