Pedal sound

Post by Sovereign »

Hi Guys,

Question. When selecting for example the concert grand and pressing the damper pedal without playing a note, I hear an audible 'thunk' with a lot of verb on it, which I suppose imitates the pedal sound (rx noise??).

However I think it's too loud.

Is there any way to reduce the volume, or just turn it off completely? I've looked hard and long and cannot find any options.

Hi Sovereign, I haven't personally done much sound editing on my Pa4x yet (unlike many others on the forum), however, I have a suggestion that may help you to solve your problem with the pedal noise on the concert grand sound.

In sound mode/menu/basic/osc go to the osc numbers on the right hand side and choose/look at 19, 20, 21 and 22. You will see that the high section refers to a piano fx pedal setting for either left or right. If you select the level of that section and turn it down to -inf db, you will no longer hear the pedal noise.

You just need to follow the same procedure for all 4 of the mentioned oscillators.

Even if this doesn't totally solve you issue, I think it should show you which area to look at.

Other forum members may have better/alternatives but as no one had offered any suggestions, I thought that I'd try to assist you.

Let me know if it works for you.

Best wishes,
Jon
