Resampling via physical outputs?

Post by circuitghost »

Friends.

I'm considering an Analog Heat, to use like this:
Audio Out from Electribe Sample
into
Analog Heat

(so far so good)

then
Audio Out from Analog Heat
into
Electribe Sampler's Audio In

This, for resampling purposes.

So I've got a nice groove going in my sampler tribe, and what I want to do is just resample it, but instead of doing it internally like it's usually done in the tribe sampler, I want to do it through the physical outputs and inputs, since I want to process the sounds through the Analog Heat as I resample.

I did this on the Octatrack from time to time. It's tricky, you gotta use the cues and stuff, so it's certainly not a given. I can imagine all kinds of feedback nightmares.

But it all depends on how stuff is wired, I guess.

So - can it be done? Or will it just be a bunch of noise or other horrible outcomes?

I do this with my Zoom R8 - obviously not with a Heat...(!!!)

by disabling the monitoring.

But a thought occured - I am at work and not have access to machine..

See manual:

TO SAMPLE
Setting the Sampling Mode:

3. Press the > button to select the sampling source. Turn the Value knob to specify “Audio In.”

AND -

TO RESAMPLE
SELECT the Resampling Mode:

4. Press the > button to select the sampling source. Turn the Value knob to specify “Resampling.”

From the E2S pov - you are attempting to Sample rather than Resample...

Resampling permits playback (of course)

By setting the Sampling Source to "Audio In" - does that prevent playback and prevent any attempt at performing this?

Would be delighted to be proven wrong.

EDIT - am thinking it would have to be attempted via Resampling and setting the line in to OSC Audio in- but how would u escape feedback.....

Thanks for the reply. This is my intended approach. And I believe there will be feedback issues. But you never know. :)
