Ok ... I took out all the juicy stuff. Carry on, all.
Sorry if I ruffled too many feathers. It's Thanksgiving where I live, and it's a peaceful time.

The PA4X IS NOT the PA3X!

Why are there SO MANY people expecting Korg to make the same thing again? Times change. Technology changes. This is a cutting edge keyboard, and no, it's NOT the same in some ways as the 3x. Some miss features, others (like me) LOVE the additions and MASSIVE improvements. It's a whole new beast, and I don't WANT a new 3x. The time to compare the two is BEFORE you buy one.

Please stop expecting the replacement to be the predecessor. Time marches on ... it's time you did too.

Rant over. Carry on peacefully, please.
:)
Constructive criticism is the process of offering valid and well-reasoned opinions about the work of others, usually involving both positive and negative comments, in a friendly manner rather than an oppositional one. The purpose of 'constructive criticism is to improve the outcome.

... and then, sometimes, a reality check is needed. This was very constructive. It seems too many users are expecting each new design to be more of the same, and they complain when the new kid on the block doesn't do what the old one did. That's why we research, test, and read-up before we upgrade.
I'm not stirring any pots here ... just calling for a taste of reality.

QUOTE: "I'm not stirring any pots here".... But your opening quote contradicts it's self...QUOTE: "This is going to surprise some of you, and annoy others"...then you go on to say...QUOTE: "Time marches on ... it's time you did too"... I find you comments and tone some what dismissive of others point of view, if you are happy and enjoying your PA4X then that is a very good thing for you and I can see from your web site you are very good at your craft and I applaud you I enjoyed, But I think to be fair here this forum is for users who want to express there opinions good, bad, or indifferent about the PA4X and in many cases have had a long and productive history as customers with korg as a company as users of there professional arrangers and should be allowed to say without being told what they should or shouldn't do according to you comments on this thread, This is important for all concerned in this relationship "korg and there costumers" After all we are all passionnant at what we do (korg & costumer) .

Here's another "News Flash"!

This is a FACT! Sometimes companies make mistakes and drop popular/classic features in their new products. It backfires ...... People complain and sometimes they're able to get some of them back as an update or something. This happens ALL THE TIME both in the hardware and software world. If you're not complaining about the discontinued features, that simply means you didn't use or depend on them so there's really no reason for you to complain. It could also mean that you didn't really know how they worked to begin with! That doesn't make anybody cool, smart, special or something.

Many people bought the Pa4x and KORG did not provide them with a manual. It took a while before they published the advanced manual....and even then it did contain various mistakes. FACT!

Korg PA user demographic and language barriers? Let's not even go there!

This particular group of users are also responsible for finding TONS of bugs as well. Many other users (such as Uncle Dave???) enjoyed a more stable keyboard because of them. They were also able to make a more informed decision because of all the conversations and posts that took place around here. People complained and most of us (including myself) learned a certain feature was buggy or missing altogether....and so on and so forth.

Isn't a bit convenient and childish to complain about the user attitude when they have already done the work for you? It would probably be a good idea to appreciate the time and effort they put into this.

I agree.

I was most disappointed when my microSD port broke. Other than that the Pa4x fills the bill for me. The Pa4x is the only Korg arranger I ever owned so I can't make any comparisons there. Every keyboard has it's great points and it's not so great points. I guess the complaints mostly come (like the Oasys) because it is a very expensive keyboard and more is expected. (The Oasys was $8000). Many were very upset when they suddenly broke their promise and made it a legacy keyboard. The first Kurzweils were $15,000. Imagine how owners of that keyboard felt when a new model came out to replace it. My K2000S cost me over $5000 from Sweetwater without a case. The best always costs a lot and it is natural to expect a lot. But nothing is perfect even though we would like it to be.
