OS 3.1.0 - new KARMA bug!

Post by Melomaniak »

I need to warn before updating to OS 3.1.0.
There is a very strange bug.
The LATCH function of at least two KARMA modules doesn't work anymore:

1. Select any program you want
2. Go to KARMA and select the karma GE "2045: RT Real-Time Bend" or "2036: Cyborg Hit"
3. Switch KARMA on
4. Switch LATCH (This has no hold-effect since OS 3.1.0!)

There are several strange things how the LATCH function "works" again:
5.1 Go into "Quick Layer" or "Quick Split" Mode
or
5.2 Go to a (empty) combination and use "Copy From Program" with Karma
or
5.3 Go to karma CONTROL panel and select for "Transpose" something but zero

Especially the point 5.2 is very strange. You can also write this comination, and the LATCH function works. Also when you initialize karma and select 2045 or 2036 again. You can copy this karma module to other programs or comination, then it doen't work again.

I can't trust OS 3.1.0, and I wish I could downgrade to 3.0.4!

I have the old kronos (1). It would be nice if there is someone who confirm the bug also with kronos x or 2.

And yes, I love the kronos, and the "Quick Layer" and "Quick Split" modus is a good idea, especially when jamming. But it is very sad, that the sound cut when you choose another split or layer sound!

Yes it is a bug for me as well.

How do I downgrade?

I would guess that if you want to down-grade, just check in your PC downloads, and find the previous OS and load it back into the Kronos. I have loaded the 3.1 OS in my K2, but I still have the older up-dates in my computer.
Kronos2-61..(2) Triton Classic, Nord Stage 2, Previously owned lots of other gear dating back to the 70’s.

Puhh, okay. I now have 3.0.4 again. The bug is gone. Thank you.
I'm waiting for 3.1.1 ....

I do not have 3.0.4 in my pc anymore; where else do you think I can find 3.0.4 to downgrade?

Thanks

Is it safe to update the OS with a previous version? Thanks

yes, I noticed that those 2 Karma phrases play only once with Latch=on

Other Karma GE's repeat as I would expect with Latch=On

My guess is that its possible that another Karma setting has to be tweaked to give you " continuous" or repeat, etc for these 2 Karma GE's

No! Cause - try this:
5.1 Go into "Quick Layer" or "Quick Split" Mode
or
5.2 Go to a (empty) combination and use "Copy From Program" with Karma
or
5.3 Go to karma CONTROL panel and select for "Transpose" something but zero

Then LATCH holds.

I think in 2 - 3 weeks Korg gives as a new release. I'm waiting...

That's what I call a bug report making sense - in contrast to some useless upsets just causing storms in water glasses.

Thanks for staying relaxed! :)
