Do not update to OS 3.1.0 It is not stable, with Karma bugs.
It would be good if someone from Korg could advise if it is safe to reverse the OS with the OS 3.0.4 update.
I heard of a user which has reversed it without problems but would appreciate a confirmation that this will not create problems for future updates.
Thank you
Leone

Yes, there appears to be a KARMA bug, but if you're aware of that and it's not important to you, the upgrade seems fine. Earlier versions are available.

There is more than one Karma bug! There are crashes and freezes on the new Quick split/layers functionality when saving to combs!!!burningbusch wrote:Yes, there appears to be a KARMA bug, but if you're aware of that and it's not important to you, the upgrade seems fine. I didn't realize I was "backing up Korg" in my statement. Thanks for clarifying. Wasn't aware of the saving bug as I haven't encountered it myself and didn't see that post.Leone wrote: Stop backing up Korg; they have done a poor job this time!!!!

Fortunately KARMA is something I disable globally and splits/layers are something I do manually is combined mode. I haven't seen anything else amiss with the upgrade.burningbusch wrote:Yes, there appears to be a KARMA bug, but if you're aware of that and it's not important to you, the upgrade seems fine. Sorry but I am really frustrated at a machine that cost more than £3000 that crashes because of an os update. I simply want Korg to acknowledge that they have done a poor job and post a simple "yes it is fine to reverse using the 3.0.4 update" or "use this update to reverse it back".burningbusch wrote:I didn't realize I was "backing up Korg" in my statement. Can you imagine buying a new Kronos at those prices and find out that it crashes.... sorry this is not acceptable... customers should complain more!!!!

Just go back to 3.0.4 and wait for the fix.Leone wrote:Sorry but I am really frustrated at a machine that cost more than £3000 that crashes because of an os update. Not everyone shares your opinion. Folks form their own opinion based primarily on their experience.Leone wrote:Sorry but I am really frustrated at a machine that cost more than £3000 that crashes because of an os update. After awhile, too much griping about 1 or 2 issues is not effective. The gripes
get tuned out.
I think you are better off emailing Dan at Korg. That would be direct as Korg employees do not necessarily read posts here.
I have never kept any keyboard or product where I was unhappy with it or the service.
Maybe Facebook is a another option for you.
Maybe you are right Greg... last time I updated the Kronos 2 it crashed at recognising the USB key (and I read others having the same problem). And every time I try to create decent combis it runs out of polyphony... such a good keyboard with lots of potential but bad execution in my view.GregC wrote:Not everyone shares your opinion. And BTW I am not expecting everyone to share my opinion but I feel free to express mine. I also know that if it is only one customer complaining as you say the gripe get tuned out, but if there are lots then a company will have to respond...
Regarding emailing Dan, do you have his email address please? Thanks Greg

Wow.
Haven't been too excited about the new version OS. Thats because i have been ok with my K2 v3.0.4. The new split and layer function isn't something i really need and the bug fixes are for bugs i never really noticed or just accepted as the way kronos works as long as there was a work around option elsewhere.
Been having an easier time overcoming anywhere i get stumped lately.
Either way, i transfered the content over and cleared out my spare USB stick to go fetch v3.1.0.
I think i will hold off on fetching it.
Karma is one area i use and hate to have it crash on me. I can live with the 3.0.4 bugs which i never even noticed, and maybe i can just enjoy the view of the new split and layer functions by watching whatever show & tell videos come up on youtube.
Yes sir, i am hinting at whoever would care to do a youtube show&tell of the split and layer functions brought by v3.1.0. We are waiting. Rather than stick v3.1 up my kronos' rear end and catch a bug, i will go the vicarious route.

Dave has already posted a video of this new function on youtube.19naia wrote:Wow.

As a matter of fact I have a new $3000 keyboard from another manufacturer that I can lock up in in 30 seconds. If I quickly scroll through the FX list it will lock, guaranteed. This was supposedly fixed in an update but it still exists. I can avoid it by scrolling slowly or manually punching in the number of the FX. I do not however, consider this keyboard to be unstable. I can play it for days on end and it won't lock up so long as I don't do the above. So this is similar to the Kronos OS 3.1, which evidently has some bugs when certain functions are employed, but I don't consider unstable. Unstable implies it is randomly crashing during normal operations.Leone wrote:
