Iomega Zip 250 not working with Classic

Post by jazlover »

I used a Iomega Zip 100 for years, no problems... After that unit broke, I order another Iomega Zip 100 (parallel port) and get sent a 250 zip sent by mistake instead. Sending it back is a hassle and the Iomega 250 is not seen when I scan the SCSI in disc mode. I have tried powering the Iomega first..(then the Triton never boots up). I have also tried powering the Iomega after the Triton ....(but while in the Disk mode the Triton freezes up when scanning the SCSI). I read that people used the Iomega 250 with the Classic but I can not this one to work together.

What must I do?
Should I just get a replacement to the Iomega Zip 100?

The 100 is FAT16 formatted which the Triton Classic could see (read/write).
the Iomega 250 is not seen when I scan the SCSI in disc mode.
Iomega 250zip is FAT32 file system formatted -- Triton Classic uses FAT16.
What must I do?
Whatever you do, stay away from Iomega products !!
I know many Akai MPC users who lost their samples from using Iomega Zips.

Did you solve the issue? I have the same exact problem with 250mb SCSI Zip drive.

A friend of mine is using the 250mb in his korg triton and workin' great. My triton freezes when the scsi zip drive is plugged in.
A musician and therefore a very happy guy.

Your friend probably has a Triton studio, then.. (?)

100mb ZIP is the limitation for Triton Classic, 250mb ZIP uses a different format
It should read/write on a 100mb zip without a problem !

He uses a Korg triton Pro, just like mine, the only difference is the 76 keys keybed - but software and hardware is the same.
A musician and therefore a very happy guy.
