Out of respect for a KORG and Tats.
I am not going to comment anymore on this subject here.
If someone creates a new topic on analogue vs digital on this forum, i will discuss it there. :)

Regarding new workstation discussions, a poster under Kronos forums states that the manager of the store he purchased his Kronos 2 from recently stated that a new model is on the way and that sellers have been asked to get rid of existing stock...dont know how true this is though.

My answer is quite short: hats to Tats!
All the best to him for whatever he is doing next!

What I call the "Bonsai synth culture" from all three major brands has been nothing for my personal use so far. BUT: the mini analog concept developed by Tats for Korg definitely has been the best part of it from my view, and while I don't use these tools myself, I am still very well able to see why it has been a great palette of entry tools for many young musicians, exploring their kind of music with Volcas, Monologues and Minilogues with a ot of fun. And spreading the product range from iPad apps, over entry and midrange synths and drum boxes, up to more and more powerful Kronos versions, far beyond the original Oasys concept, has definitely been a success story for Korg.
Kronos 73 - Moog Voyager RME - Moog LP TE - Behringer Model D - Prophet 6 - Roland Jupiter Xm - Rhodes Stage 73 Mk I - Elektron Analog Rytm MkII - Roland TR-6s - Cubase 12 Pro + Groove Agent 5

BTW, you can find OASYS motherboards on ebay.
Could you provide a link to where on ebay you can get an OASYS motherboard - I've been searching regularly for months without success. Thanks!

Well im sure finding them on ebay takes some patients.
I did see one about 4 months ago.
I would think one could be found at parts is parts.
Of course it would probably cost more.
I am consdering trying to find one and have it as a backup, just in case.
I could be wrong about easily finding one.
I would however think that OASYS bieng almost 13 years old it would be harder to find a motherboard.
I should clarify that the one i saw on ebay was for KRONOS.

I would add that the reason I have Volcas, and not Boutiques or Refaces, is purely price. Nothing particular against the Boutiques, especially now that they have their MIDI issues sorted, and I actually really like the sounds of a couple of the Refaces, but for one of the Reface DX boxes, I can have three Volca FMs. Since I have achieved a MIDI rig, the ribbon strip/minikeys thing is irrelevant to me; they're both desktop FM synths.

For me the volcas, monologue, even the monotrons, certainly aren't toys - I'm primarily a guitarist, but compose electronic music, and have been enchanted by the compositional capabilities of all these little and not-so-little gadgets.

If you're open minded enough to frame it as such - and consequently work it into something usable - you can record, for example, a biro scraping along the side of tin can - *even that* has thus become a musical instrument.

Ah - you meant in general. Interesting that you found on - I've been searching for about 2 years - I have an automatic search set up for just about every 'term' there can be for one, but no luck to date.

Thanks for the pointer (and sorry to go off topic). I think we OASYS owners will be buying spare OASYS for spare parts before too long!

and just to be clear - despite strong opinions and heated debate - it doesn't dampen my respect for everyone on this forums. I don't dislike Tat's as much as I've indicated here - it stems from a desire to see Korg innovate in a big way in the future, and ultimately goes no further than that.

One way or another we will find out how serious KORG are about workstations with whatever replaces the KRONOS, due probably this year.

Whatever it is, the way I'd look at it is, will this “do” (whatever KORG releases) for the next 5 to 6 years, given how far VST's and computers have gone ahead.

I agree. If Korg wants to claim they have the best sounds, they have to get the lead out, and show a product with much greater power. The VI's are so good and have captured my attention.
