Hi forum. I am usually in the Volca Series area as I own and play all of them. I am looking for a Keyboard controller for Cubase DAW and vst's and would love to stick with Korg. Besides the obvious NanoKey/Kontrol, would I be able to use the MicroKorg KL+ for same reason? I love the sounds it generates but can it control vst's and parameters?
Thanks

MicroKorg XL+ Question

Hi,
Can the XL+ be used as a keyboard controller? Yes, if the following limitations are acceptable for you:
* only 37 mini keys
* real time modulation control: only pitchwheel, modwheel and 3 other CC knobs. With some creativity, you can have roughly 4x3=12 CC events by using the Function Select knob together with the 3 knobs.
* Only one MIDI channel, meaning split configurations are not possible. But you may fix that in the DAW itself.
You can hook up the XL+ through USB for that purpose or use a USB-MIDI interface cable to use MIDI-DIN out on the XL+.
Besides that, the sound engine of the XL+ itself is nice as well.
Bye.
