Korgmann very kindly sent me 2 PCG files, as I'd had a problem with the first file, so he sent a different PCG containing the same set of files and I loaded them, only to find I have the same problem.

When I loaded the first one some of the program files sound OK, but the combis sound awful, so I re-loaded them again, to see if they would sound correct...no luck.

I then loaded the second PCG and the same result occurred.
Now I'm baffled as to why the combis sound nothing like Korgmann's demo???

My Kronos is a Gen 1 but is only 2 years old.

I have OS 3.0.4 loaded and firmware is up to date.
I wondered if my having Factory Ver:2 installed would be causing the problem?

Has anyone else experienced this?

MC

I loaded his PCGs and had no issues at all. I had to do some remapping because some of my user banks were already occupied but I think they're great sounds and I use them frequently.

Gaston,

Lucky You!
Glad to hear you can use them.

I wish I could get them working in my Kronos, as they sound great when
Korgmann plays them on You Tube. :? :( :( :(

Korgman Sounds Installed

Post by CrowNose1 »

Greetings,

I am in month 2 with my new (to me) Kronos1/61 (v3.0.4 installed...no Sound Packages purchased yet - did a RAM upgrade), but have been experimenting with free sounds (like Korgmans!) and reading this forum daily - so far a great experience.

Thanks Aureo, and Kronosians!

I really like the Korgman Progs, but I did have one experience with the sound set.

There were a couple of Progs that seemed to have no associated sample (the JUPISYNTH and the other Jupiter Prog), and they were the only sounds that were silent. I figured this was because I am missing the sample file, but took a risk and opened the pull down menu and clicked on Load Sample...(sorry can't remember the exact name of this function). I got a pop-up saying "Just a minute." The pop-up never cleared, and Kronos froze. I had to power cycle to get out of it. Guess it could not find or read the sample?

My question is: Am I correct in assuming there is a missing sample file? I imagine a corrupt sample file could create the same results (that is: a silent Prog, and the OS hang).

Appreciate the sharing spirit of the forum & fellows like yourself, Aureo.

CrowNose1,

There is indeed a file missing and exactly the same thing happened with my Kronos.

It freezes and the only way to clear it is to re-boot.

Don't try to load the Jupisynth, or the samples for it, as they appear to be
missing.

Not sure whether Aureo knows about this but I'm certain he's the guy to fix it when he realises there's a missing sample file.

Hi MusicLive,

Thanks for chimin' in...good to know.

I have reinitialized those two Prog slots, so I don't repeat the process, then copied another free sound into those slots.

It's not a big deal but maybe Aureo doesn't know about it?

CrowNose1,

When I first loaded Aureo's PCG22 I couldn't get it to work but that's not unusual for my Kronos. He kindly sent me another file, KRO219A and even that didn't work.

I'm very familiar with loading stuff into my Kronos and was puzzled as to why both files didn't work, so I re-set Kronos back to Factory-V2.
I have all my Kronos back-ups on CD's, Flash Drives and a bank of HDD's, so I can put all back together in minutes.

Re-setting to V2 did the trick - Both of Aureos PCG's work, except for the
Jupisynth stuff. I now just use his KRO22PCG and it works a treat.

Aureo is a great guy and I've become friendly with him through many e-mails, so if you think you need those files then mail him and I'm certain he'll help you out.

These are really worth getting, especially if you do a lot of these covers.

Totally agree. I had a JP8 and i really missed those warm analog sounds. Didn't think they were possible. Until I downloaded Aureos PCGs. I'm so grateful for this, for him. Let's face it, we just love great music and this community is totally what that's all about....

I recently upgraded my gear and I'm struggling a bit with latency. Most can't hear it but I can. The musicians around the world with whom I work, we've agreed to a click header to align things. Please, I'm totally open to any ideas that will solve this issue for us.

Back to the main thread, Aureo thank so much for your PCGs, which I've come to rely on heavily.

Respectfully,
Gaston

Korg Kronos sounds

Post by Omnisphere »

Hey Áureo,

Just wanted to say thank you for these high quality sounds, people say you don`t get anything of value for free, you are the exception to the rule.
The sounds are excellent, it is refreshing to see someone who is so selfless and generous to his fellow musicians

It was great to see you playing along to Highway star on youtube, Jon Lorn is no longer with us but at least he left us his amazing music.

Your a very cool dude!

Hi Áureo, thank you very much for sharing these great patches. I already own a few official Kronos soundsets, but your classic sounds are a welcome addition. good job and your playing is great and inspirational too. you are the (Korg)man! :D
