Mute track 4

Post by robthemuso »

Hi
Need to know how to automatically mute track 4. of midi files.I am trying to use assignable switch3 but that is assigned to a keyboard set so changes with each different set even though I have closed the lock symbol. I expect there is an obvious way which I just can't see. Any help please. Thanks everyone. Rob

Go to the sequencer.
Open Midi file
Mute track 4
Save changes into Midi file
That is all.
Kind regards

Be careful editing the MIDI file - you may lose some features like lyrics.

A better way would be permanently muting a song's track in Song Play mode.

1. Go to the Song Play mode, and in the Volume pane mute Track 4.
2. Go to Global > Mode Preferences > Song & Seq., and choose the "Write Song Play Track & FX" command from the page menu.

This will permanently mute Track 4 in Song Play mode, until you don't save the settings again with the track in play.

I load my song into the sequencer and play a few bars to make sure what I want to mute, mute tracks, and save changes to source midi. I do this because it is not only Ch 4, and because I don't ever need my midi unmuted.
