Can you play the combi so that it saves MIDI to a sequencer

Post by blorgsnarfer »

I like my Kross 88, but so far, I haven't found any way to play one of the combis and have the complete result with rhythm and everything be recorded to an external sequencer. With the combi accompaniment playing, I can record the piano, but none of the other stuff (bass, drum parts, etc.) gets recorded. It is so frustrating. The combi appears to work like a 16-part sequence, but it doesn't seem to record out. Moreover, I haven't even been able to record it internally, again with MIDI. (I can record audio, but I want MIDI, so I can use the sequence with other keyboards and sounds). I would appreciate any help people can give.

First point:

The Kross will absolutely, positively do this. Your problem is just one of setup.

First, you'll want to make sure that all the instruments in the combi send MIDI where you want (i.e. externally) if you want to record the MIDI signals. No MIDI? No signals. You said you could record the main instrument, which is fair enough, but then you probably just sent that one MIDI signal out.

For the internal sequencer, you need to make sure that you have multi on, so that you record all channels at once.
