Quick KARMA question!
Just trying to record the MIDI out of a bassline that was generated using KARMA into a DAW - the DAW doesn't see MIDI out however when KARMA is playing on it's own, only when I'm playing.
How would I go about recording the MIDI data that KARMA is outputting short of recording it to a SNG and playing those tracks back manually?

Ahhh, that could make sense. I turned it off since I had the MIDI feedback happening. I'll try that - thanks SanderSanderXpander wrote:If I recall correctly, for Karma to be output, the Kronos needs to be set to Local On in the global menu. Try that maybe?

Okay, I turned local back on, but still nothing. When I analyze the MIDI output from the Kronos while KARMA is running, I only get the notes I've played but not the KARMA output itself at all.
Oh and I'm able to crash Podium reliably using this method when I try and play back the MIDI that *is* captured. Seems there's some sysex data of some kind as soon as I start playing but nothing of substantial use unfortunately :/

Thanks Shambler,
I looked at the thread - the local on stuff I knew. Then there's mention of being in the Combi itself and changing in the "Timble Parameter" tab (Under MIDI) changing the status from INT (internal) to both... However I don't have this option at all. Just EXT and EXT2 - no both option.
I'm still looking around to find the answer, perhaps it's buried a little deeper somewhere else.

So Karma has ways of separating notes Karma plays from what notes are played directly from the keys.
So if the played key notes are inherent to midi data going through, then it seems that if Karma GE driven notes were separated from that, they would not go through.. ?
Just a guess.
Karma has Midi I/O page settings for Timbre Thru/Track Thru and also GE set up for "Thru In Z" settings that have to do with separating played notes from Karma GE notes.
Also Transmit Midi Filter and Recieve Midi filter area of the "Midi Filter CC offset" Tab-Page in Karma, you have "Transmit Midi Filter" area with an enable/disable cell under "GE notes".
Seems like Karma GE notes are what you are not transmiting to your external tracks.

If you are in sequencer mode, you set the track output to BTH (Both) and KARMA will send the MIDI.
In Combi mode, there is no Both setting. You can set it to EXT and it will then send the MIDI, but you will not hear it on the internal sound generator unless you loop back into it (echo) from the external DAW.
Therefore, when trying to send MIDI from KARMA, the recommended way is to copy the combi into the sequencer mode and set the tracks you want to transmit to BTH.
