Trouble Loading Songs/Sequences - Please help

Post by jbjorge »

I am having difficulty loading songs. I have created four songs, all using the same programs, combos, etc. I saved the songs to disk. Then I go to load them, and I can get a couple to load individually. Then I go to a third one, and it loads all the songs over and over again about six times. I'm frustrated! I tried every combination of loading I could think of. I've loaded them individually, and using the multi function. I've tried both the clearing and appending feature. Perhaps someone can help? Thanks,

It may be the way you're saving the songs. When you save sequences, it saves ALL the sequences as one file. This is great for loading groups of songs at once. But, for individual songs you have to make sure only one song is in memory before you save it. To load songs individually, you must save them individually.

I have a song file called current. If I need to load several songs for a gig, I will load them individually in the correct order, and then save sequences to the current file. Then, I just load current.SNG and all songs load in order.

I don't know if this is your problem, but I've had similar issues until I learned to save songs individually.

Thanks Geo,

That makes sense! I will play with it tomorrow and see if I can sort it out. Hey, are you the same Geo from Texas that's on the Organ Forum? If so, you've also helped me out with my Hammond B3 a couple of times.

In appreciation,

Johnny B.

Thanks Geo,

I'm so grateful for your help. Your solution works! I'm not sure why Korg would not have an option to select either "save one" or "save all" when saving sequences, but they don't. So, I'll need to develop a good work-around strategy. Using a "current" folder seems to be a good option.

I spent about 5 hours trying to sort this problem out on my own through the manuals and trial and error, and finally thought I should ask on the forum. 45 minutes later, you replied to my post and nailed the solution. How cool is that! I feel like I owe you big time - for your help with my Kronos 2, and your previous help with my Hammond B3.

I've had my Kronos 2 for about six months. I love it, but as I'm digging deeper into it's capabilities (which are amazing) I'm finding it takes some time to sort things out. The manuals are good, but I find the software/operating system sometimes a bit challenging.

Again, thanks for you timely and spot on response!
