Gunnar, it seems that you could quite easily share this, unless I'm missing something, by saving a single PCG (DISK-->FILE-->SAVE-->SAVE PCG & SEQ). Do a CLEAR ALL and then select USER-AA in Programs and User-C in Combinations, then OK to save. All of the relevant combi slots reference AA078, so people would need to either have that free or adjust accordingly. I don't know what you've got going on with the string sound in G116, but that's not factory anyway so people could ignore it. The other string sounds are factory but reference the programs as they exist on the pre-Kronos 2. Seems that the strings are ancillary anyway, yes?
If you'd like to send it to me I could test.
Thanks,
Busch.

Thanks, Gunnar. Your explanation is enough to get me started down a similar path.
My own challenge is a little different. Rather than solo piano, my goal is to create a piano that will cut through a rock band without having to be consistently banging away in the upper third of the velocity range. One problem is that when playing very fast, lightly-hit passing notes can disappear into the live mix.
I've been dealing with that via the Velocity Intensity adjustment, which makes quiet notes louder. But I think your approach might work better, because it gives greater control over different velocities, e.g. brightening the lower-velocity notes or softening the upper end.

Here is the PCG

Bitflipper: I am glad to hear that this is maybe a good idea for you to come closer to your goal for the pianosound. And: I am very interested in what you may have come to .
Because I also play in a jazz-rock band where your result maybe can help me there.
Remember the soft pedal ON !!

I am very curious Busch, did you test this sound? What is your opinion about a sound after test? I don't have switch pedal, only sustain. How I can set it (if it is possible) to be a soft pedal? Thanks for all your attention.burningbusch wrote:Gunnar, it seems that you could quite easily share this, unless I'm missing something, by saving a single PCG (DISK-->FILE-->SAVE-->SAVE PCG & SEQ). Hi Pedja,Pedja wrote:Still no commentary..........................?
Like any other sound, it's totally subjective. I tried it some weeks ago but it doesn't work for me. It is an interesting attempt, but I personally need a much wider dynamic range. The program also disables the piano resonance, etc.
Of course, it could be perfect for someone else.
An "ideal" program sound can only do so much and IMHO the quality of playing is much more important. In other words, I think the OP's recording sounds good because his playing is good.
I have only tried Kronos on two concerts, and the last one was something like a disaster. It was not enough just playing good, the piano didn't want to sound like I wanted. I HAD to do something. (I thought about Ravenscroft 275)
Although I am also a classical pianist I wanted lesser dynamic, not expressive but in volume. I was afraid of playing to hard because it came some sudden 'bangs" in the loadspeakers when using another velocity than 9. and 9 is not good in pianissimo.(Bb4 and Db5 is harder than the tones around, my main problem now, but nothing to do with it)
So the way of arranging the velocity fixed that and the equalizer of each part of the velocity . But this didn't change the sound of course.
The main thing here was to use soft pedal ON, with GS velocity 3.
This combination made it possible to get a nice sound in piano and pianissimo with expressive fortissimo but not to high volume. That was what I needed. But a rock piano needs something else of course. I can use string ressonance but I feel it is a little bit distortion in it, and didn't want to use it.
The main thing is that I have a piano I can use. But I will be glad if someone else likes it and can use it. Other comments are also welcome.

Hi guntun63, if you happen to also carry a computer with your Kronos, you could try to create you own custom velocity curves. Just like you, I mainly play classical stuff and was not entirely happy with any of the available curves, so decided to start from scratch. So I put all SGX-2 parameters back to factory settings, then I try to first adjust the portions of the velocity curve I'm not happy with, then I readjust SGX-2 parameters, etc. I'm still not done with it as it takes a lot of tests, but I'm getting closer to what I like. Of course, it depends if you carry a labtop with you at gigs.guntun63 wrote:(Bb4 and Db5 is harder than the tones around, my main problem now, but nothing to do with it).
And as I mentioned earlier, every solution can give different results for each person. I'm glad you like your combi and I'm sure it can help others. Keep on the good playing.
Thanks to KK and guntun63!!!

Curious about that.

All you need besides your Kronos and a laptop is the MIDI-OX freeware. You create custom velocity maps with it. Also, if you monitor your Kronos while playing, it's likely that you can't reach the top numbers in the 0 to 127 MIDI velocity scale. This can then be "fixed" as well.
Since it's not possible to bypass the Kronos' internal MIDI velocity curve, select one that suits you well, turn off local mode in Global to avoid MIDI feedback, then use the data mapping option in the freeware to adjust the chosen curve closer to your taste. http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... p?t=109628
