Monitor stands

Post by Bertotti »

I am building a set of monitor stands to clear up some space om my desk. I currently do not use any isolation but was thinking of putting my monitors on a pair of the IsoAcoustics ISO-L8R155 Medium Acoustic Isolation Stands. Anyone using these? Are they worth the 100$. What I currently like about them is the height adjustability and the way they hold or tilt a bit for the speaker placement. I am asking because it will affect how tall I make my stands. I have good scrap laying around for the stands so they will not coast me a dime other then a bit of time, to build. Thanks

Foam can help. More important is to make the stands heavy, like seriously by adding bricks or a container of sand, to minimize vibration, and then to minimize transference to the floor by resting them on spiked feet if that's an option. The idea behind it all is that the monitor should not let whatever it stands on resonate because that clouds the image.
