What's this excitement OS2

Post by shadowhankron »

Hi
I have read some of the messages regarding the new OS 2 ..there very many mixed comments coming out from members as to the new software update.
I now am very nervous about considering to update until there are no negative comments.
However ,can anyone tell me what's in this os2.0 update..what advantages are there .

Thanks

Ronnie

Read the release notes.

There is nothing but GOODNESS in this release; new styles, new voices, new features, etc.

How can you not be excited. A few members are having issues with the installation as they are not reading the instructions carefully.

I haven't experiences any issues as yet. YMMV

This new version is outstanding - brilliant.

Go for it Ron - read the installation instructions (PDF) and follow it line by line and it will work perfectly.

Let me know if you need any help.

I am allways very watchfull of comments before installing new patches/software..

But in this case it looks like the people not litterally reading those instructioms and sticking to them are the ones having some troubles...

So far it seems everyone that understood the installation notes and litterally sticked to them is fine...

Nevertheless, i will be wayting to next week, as that is my standard procedure for new software patches...

Hi
Thanks to all who replied.
Still unsure if all the bugs are not ironed out on this new release with OS 2.0.
There were questions regarding the use of Direct Tab..not functioning correctly, and few other problems.
what is the new midi to style function..what difference is in it...does it make better styles converted from midi files.
sorry for all the doubts..but with a €3500 korg pa4x machine...one has to be careful with upgrades..I had bad experiences over the years with Yamaha upgrade OS ....thanks for reading my post..

regards

Ronnie

You shouldn't have any doubts. Just install it and be happy with all it's new features and content....
If there is a need, Korg will prepare some additional updates.

Direct tab and direct styles access works perfectly - the method of linking a direct SET has changed - that's all.

I have not found any problems as yet - just new and very exciting features, sounds and styles.

Go for it Ron!!! Enjoy!!

P.S. Make sure you download and check out the new version 2 PA4X manuals

Only one bug with lyrics and mp3's so far, and I don't use that feature. There are so many good things about this update, go for it.

Well to me it's like having a new keyboard. Well done Korg, you have certainly gone up loads in my opinion of Korg. I have always loved the sounds but the OS was not the easiest to get my head around but was greatly improved when the PA4X came out but now with the Version 2 I would imagine the sales of the PA4X should increase greatly and us who have been fortunate to have this wonderful update, NO, UPGRADE I think is a better description. I don't think I know of any other manufacturer who would do this much work on improving an exisiting keyboard for FREE. Well done Korg. :)
