Strange breathing sound / damper

Post by Rajanawfal »

Good morning everyone.....

I have an issue on my new pa4x.

Every time I play the damper pedal on relatively high volume, there's a strange breathing noise that comes off the amp or the headphones.

It just happens when I play pianos. So I guess it has something to do with the sound settings ? Could someone help out please if possible ??? Thx a lot ! :)

Pianists are aware of this natural pedal Fx noise when moves or releases the sustain metal bar with dampers , organists do not !
Therefore this is a natural articulation of acoustic piano that can be muted if you edit SOUND and find the OSCs that
produces it among other FXs as hammers / resonance / release , but then it will be no more an acoustic piano ...

Well it is quite loud. I'm a pianist actually. But this sound is loud relatively. Do you have any idea how to fix it on pa4x ? I tried but couldn't quite find a solution

Yes , its loud because you use headphones , the same will be with acoustic piano and headphones , try it at a studio !
Of course Pa developers always enhance it in order to show that all natural FX exist in their development ,
I've explained how to edit sound , find relative FX OSC (use solo OSC if required) , reduce their gain relatively
to the wanted level and you'd better save this sound at user sound banks .
Sound editing details are described in PaX advanced edit manual.

Its called Damper noise, and its a feature not a bug.. as Anthony explained..

Although especially with my headset on and playing solo piano it is a bit to loud, which is something you can change in the settings as Anthony described.
