Here's a little trick to squeeze more variety out of your Chord Sequence... I imagine the pros have figured this out, but some may not have thought of this...
Instead of inputting the correct root voicings for the song, deliberately play (and record) the chords in alternate inversions, while the BASS INV switch is off. You will still get the root version of the chord, and can play over it no problem. But, after a couple of choruses or so, turn the BASS INV 'on' for a chorus or two (you can task that to a foot switch if you want to do it hands free) and enjoy the song with an alternate bass line.
For instance, if you have a simple C - G - F - G7 Chord Sequence, try inputting it as C - G/B - F/A - G7/D
And, by quickly turning the BASS INV on and off in different parts of the sequence, you can get a combination of root and inversion versions, giving even more variety to the chord sequence.

There are a lot of cool little ways to leverage the Chord Sequencer...
A 'vamp' recorded in the middle of a song can be used at the end as an extra Ending (fade over it and solo your brains out!). Or record it at the start, while you talk over the beginning, and bank it for later in the song. If you record it the same length as the 'no chord' Ending, it gives you yet another ending where you don't need to input the chords, and can solo freely over it.
Step up the pressure on Korg to allow you to save Chord Sequences (and try, unlike Roland, to get them to allow you to Link them to a Songbook entry or Performance!
) and you can keep a huge library of 'exercise' sequences ready to go in any key... II-V-I's, I-VI-II-V's, chromatic cycle of Vths, all the basic jazz and pop progressions, all ready to go so you can practice soloing...
It's a great little tool, and finally returns the use of your LH for bending or two fisted playing duties without giving up the freedom and flexibility of arranger style play. It should be on EVERY arranger ever made!
