SV1 audible transitions between velocity layers?

an early review (2009) from SOS drew attention to"audible transitions between velocity layers".

given that this article was written so long ago, i am wondering whether the sounds might have been upgraded since then to address this? or once the product is released do those kind of things never change until the development of the next model?
