New Korg PA1000 vs PA4X

Post by KorgPA »

I saw a demo Korg PA1000
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1JPwrGiOvU
I'm wonder what's a difference between it and 4X. Price is cheaper and all the function look like 4X ??

What's your opinion?

Great upgrade to PA600/900

Don't know all the differences but clearly:-
Speakers
No sliders
No Chord Sequencer
Possibly no Direct Access......
The NEW Audio IN guitar setup is nice!!!!
I'm sure there's more new stuff....

Nice move Korg - filling the market with a great PA range

Hi Pete. It has the chord sequencer, but no EC5 socket. Bit weird, that.
When I nod my head . . . Hit it!

Yes, I think the EC5 socket should have been included other than that it looks very good.

Pa1000 - Data better than enthusiastics

I do not believe in advertisings, better had a look to the manual, to find what are better informations (maybe often fewer enthusiastic good news).

Threads about Pa1000 better seems situated in Pa900/Pa3x-section, like "Pa1000 Demoed at Bonners" from Thoraldus.

Chord Sequencer Pa1000: recorder and player in Style Play mode, chord Sequences can be saved to Style and SongBook Entries; with
edit functions ( Delete, Copy from Style/SongBook, Import/Export from/to SMF)

Direct data: additional Keyboard Sets, Styles, Pads, Voice and Guitar Presets, SongBook Entries and Set Lists, residing in a storage device like the internal drive or a removable USB drive. They can be considered as an extension of the internal memory.
kind regards

No EC5!!!!
That IS crazy!!!!

Depending on price - this would make a great backup keyboard for hardworking PA4X players.

Just about 1/2 the price of a Pa4x. The Kaoss screen and sound morphing capability is new. :o

Do you think we might get a PA4X update with these newer PA1000 features?
(Hmmmm... this sounds familiar  )

So, staying on topic here, I think it looks pretty good :D

Pete :D

@nitecrawler P.S. I didn't actually find/see anything newer regarding the Kaoss screen - what did you find/notice?

EC5 for Pa1000

Post by siebenhirter »

bud2 wrote: .. EC5 socket should have been included ..
I also would have liked, but lack of connection of an EC5 is easy to be compensated with an external, extensively configurable controller (also with USB controller as Nanocontrol).

EC5 - only adjustable globally - I always considered to be a less valuable tool. Maybe most Pa3x-player use EC5 fixed to 4 Fill-Ins und Break, because switches of EC5 only are adjustable in globals, ie permanently. Same occurs with original pedal/footswitch without possibility to adjust them individual for performances / kbdSets.

There would be the best opportunity to use flexibility to design a variety of music areas. Split points, chord recognition and many other functions could be used individually in Korgs Pa-models per performance (kbd-set), sb-entry or even in STS.

Only to use important tools globally is not useful in my opinion.
If it is also a pity that these functions were not included in any update of the Pa3x, it is almost thoughtlessly to ignore that in current model series.

Even worse with the latest model Pa1000 with VP-Presets and style performances are banished to globals, instead of possibility to use them variable within the kbdSets.

Congratulations Korg with the new releases!

From what I have seen/heard so far, the new PA1000 is exactly what I've been waiting for!
All the up-to-date Korg features in a compact and great! looking instrument!
With good internal amplification/speakers, 2x 33W bass reflex, that's even more than PA800, which already sounded great!
About half the price of a PA4X!
This makes my day!

Just to be sure, I want to try it before I buy, but I do think this instrument is going to replace my PA3X!
I will need to do the reprogramming of my Songbook all over again, but I think it's worth the effort.

I almost can't wait to get my hands on those keys!

:D :D :D
Musical grtz, Frans

Play in style. ;)

What are the new features are you talking about?
The only new feature I have spotted is guitar processor.

The official video leads with the player running his finger on the screen utilizing the Kaoss feature. Check out the Korg site for the Pa1000 and check out the video. 8)

"Totally new is the addition of KAOSS FX, which give you creative control on your performance. From subtle morphing between Variations and Drum Kit types, fine mixing between accompaniment Sounds, live reshaping of ongoing rhythms, to the most radical note-crunching effects used by countless DJs, tape delay and arpeggios, you can add ‘liquid mixing’ to any Style or MIDI Song with the aid of easy-to-use computer-assisted composition features. Push the boundaries of your musicality!"

Above paragraph was copied from the Korg PA1000 description. Sounds like Kaoss to me Pete. 8)

Oh! Sorry
We already have the Kaoss feature on the PA4X in Version 2.0 it's absolutely incredible - just realised you are not yet a PA4X owner and may have not realised....

Cheers

True, not an owner here of the Pa4x. I took their comment: "Totally new is the addition of KAOSS FX which give you creative control on your performance.
