We should give them a pass then I guess Pete. Seriously though, why would you spend close to two grand more for a PA4x than this new unit? Gives one pause don't you think? It really seems to have all the horns and whistles. I could midi it up to my PA3xle or Oasys for more keyboard keys if required. Food for thought. :?

It has less efx , it doesn't have second outputs, it doesn't have an xlr mic in, it doesn't have fill buttons, it has less factory rom (missing some multisamples fron 4x), it has no EC5 port , it is plastic so lower build quality/durability,it has no 76keys version and has 200mb less ram memory. Most probably the keybed will be of lower quality too...
So i guess the pricing is good and the 4x worths the extra money for sure!

Musiccankill, I hear what you are saying but, close to $2000.00 more for the PA4x? Gives me some pause. The EC5 port is unfortunate but most of the rest are not show stoppers for me. I can see where this could be a popular addition to the Korg PA line up for sure!

Any info about the keybed?

Also soundwise, not impressed.

There is an actual parity of equation here : Pa4X vs Pa1000 == Pa3X vs Pa900
The 2 lacking features of missing Fill tabs and EC5 port , automatically downgrades this arranger to Pa900 amateur category
with less factory resources , no comparison at all with flagship Pa4X V2 of 5.1Gb sound resources !
As Pete said the target is Pa900/600 users ... you always get what you've paid

Hi all

The PA1000 seems to answer my prayers!

I don't have a Korg dealer near my location to test this out so buying online.. would appreciate it if someone can answer a question on the fill-ins.

Say I was in variation 1 and just wanted a fill-in but to continue in variation 1, if I hit the V1 button with autofill on will it do a fill-in and continue?

Thanks!

Pa1000 - Fill-Buttons, AutoSelect

So it does - unfortunately, because cumbersome. Awkward to use two buttons at same time with a two fingered monkey grip - but lack of Fill-In buttons for each Fill-In for simple direct-access.

I just noticed that the Autoselect function, which I consider to be very valuable, is again present in the Pa1000 - I am very happy about this. So I am sorry for my mistake that I have claimed that AutoSelect KbdSet is missing in the Pa1000.

Thanks, just to confirm does this mean you have to do this 2 button combo if you just want to play a fill in and to continue with the same variation that you are already in?

So can you do Var1 > fill in 1 > var1 by pressing the variation 1 button with auto fill on?

Thanks

Since Style button architecture is the same then without a EC5 port control , I guess this is the only way to do this
except if they had another one "brighter idea" to discontinue at all fill selection ...

Of course, PA4X is better equipped and more professional. But I'm very pleased to see that PA1000 comes very near at a much more affordable price tag, especially for a home user like me. I also like the fact that it's more compact. PA3X with PAAS is quite big in my room. PA900 didn't convince me when I played one a few years ago as a replacement for my PA800. I think PA1000 WILL. A compliment to Korg for making the newest technology reachable for people who don't make their money in playing music. PA1000 seems great value for money to me!

They say it is a Semi-weighted keyed with After Touch. So it looks like a decent bed. Comparing it to the Yamaha S970 it has 3 RH Voices and Semi Weighted Bed. So a dar better board.
