Global EQ in Kronos??

Excuse me, but can you equalize the Kronos globally? or should it be done for each Program or Combi?
sorry but they are newbie.

Hi Paolo,

This depends entirely on the situation and both options are available to you, but I would think the most common pattern is to tweak each individual program and combi to your own liking while you play and while developing the sounds or tweaking the stock ones.

In Set List mode, you have the Global EQ which is then applied AFTER any PROG or COMBI specific EQ. The purpose of this outlined in the Parameter Guide, is to adapt an already decently EQ tweaked set of sounds to the environment you are playing in. So say you set it up at home and you're normally using a flat Global EQ. Then you move the Kronos to a location for a git and you notice all the sounds come out thin and bass is missing. In which case you can tweak the Global EQ and adapt your Set List for this location.

However, before starting to tweak EQ, be sure that you can "trust your gear". What I mean with that is that the equipment you are listening on will greatly influence the resulting sound. If you listen through headphones, you should be aware of what characteristics the headphones accentuate. While typical consumer headphones will boost a bit of bass and perhaps treble, a more expensive "professional" headset will produce a more flat response across the frequency spectrum. If you are using a set of speakers then those will have similar issues. And in addition to that, the room you are listening in will influence the sound. Further, the speakers position, especially the distance behind the speaker to the wall will greatly affect the resulting sound. Typically, bass will increase if the distance is short when the speaker has a hole in the rear to let out sound. This isn't a problem per se, but just something to be aware of. If you tweak for something that is a "local" problem, you're likely just going to make the sound worse :)

Personally, I check tend to compare the result with both headset and speakers and make sure it works decently in both.

If you are working in SEQ mode, you can use one of the TFX effects to produce a global EQ. You'll find the TFX on the last page of the SEQ menu, along with the MFX.
