Hear, hear! Doesn't seem likely though if it's going to be something new. Polysix and Poly800 only have 7 letters each (or 7 characters each really) and both would be covered by the Minilogue really (even though the Poly800 had DCO's). And again they would be remakes.Crystalmsc wrote:I'll be glad for a remake of the Prophecy.....John01W wrote:"Starts with P & contains 8 letters"
Maybe the Korg Panorama? A vector synth with 4 voices (the new standard polyphony for analogues, it would seem) with four analogue filters, envelopes and amps, that can "pan" around the vectors? I don't know, I just made that up based on the fact that "panorama" has 8 letters and starts with a "P". "Palisade" fits that criteria also, as does "PogoStik", though none of my ideas in this paragraph have 'logue in them. Well at least we know it won't be called "Diatribe", but that could be the next Electribe moniker

Stuff I'm using: Umm right now, well there's a Volca Drum, a Micro Freak, an ADX-1, a Pulse, a Blofeld, a UNO Drum, KeyStep/Beatstep Pro/Keystep Pro (one of each), a Circuit, a LiveTrak L-12 and this nonsense: The Brief-case as it was about a bit over a year ago (the the complete ridiculous GAS monster collection here)and here
not too far away - just about four months
maybe a new workstation/synth line that replaces the kronos .. coming from team made analogue synths so it may have analogue stuff in it .. as yamaha had digital FM korg maybe is going for analogue besides pcm and sample modeling ===> kronos+analogue synths/generators

I like the Prophecy remake idea.
But let's think about this a bit: the Prophecy was a (pioneering) virtual analogue system. What would you do with that today?
A new rompler? No.
A straightforward competitor to things like the Waldorf Blofeld? ... enh. I don't see it.
No, it would have to take things to the next level somehow.
Look at what KORG already does with digital synthesis, and you can see some promising ideas outside the rompler world. There are the Kronos VA engine approaches, of course, but there's also the Electribe family.
What if they took the Kronos concept up inside the bigger brother of an Electribe, with some better on-board effect abilities, and beefed up the Electribe sequencer to create a capable VA production station?
Please note, they already have all the pieces, it'd be more of an integration exercise, than a blue sky effort.
