No Drum Track Available In Combo Mode

Only had my Krome less than a week. I watched the video and was shown a combo mode able to use a drum track. However, since I play left hand bass in a lot of my songs, I have a combo of Bass/Piano but am not able to access the Drum Track. Anyone?

The question is not entirely clear. Is the intention to play individual drum sounds with eack key press, or to have drums playing automatically whilst playing bass and piano with both hands?

Is this a brand new keyboard or has it been "previously enjoyed"?

Each Program or Combi in the factory default set has drums of one sort or another associated with it. Some may be no more than the faint tinkle of a triangle, whilst others are full on "four to the floor" drum sounds. The Drum Track function key turns the drum track arpeggiator on or off, or arms it for the next key press (the Drum Track key flashes to indicate the armed state), so that drums are played by the arpeggiator. If the drum track key is lit constantly, then the drum track arpeggiator is running and something should be heard on the audio output, even with no keyboard keys being played.

In a Combi, the drums will occupy one (or more) of the 16 timbre slots, and normally be given a MIDI channel of 10. Check those timbres aren't muted and their individual volume settings are at a reasonable level. If trying to generate drum sounds with individual presses of the keys, then the MIDI channel of that drum timbre will need to be set to the same as the keyboard MIDI output (usually MIDI channel 1 or GCh).

This is a new keyboard I've had less than a week. In the Combination Mode, I have the lower part of the keyboard set to Bass and the upper to Piano. when I press the Drum Track button, it does not light up as it does in a Program mode.

Yes it does on Combinations that are standard but not the combination that I designed as Bass/Piano.

Hi,
You will need to turn the drum track on via the combi edit pages.
I forget which page - but go to the arpegiator page and the last tab is for the drum track. Choose a pattern, assign it to the right channel - I use channel 10. You will need to choose options such as latch etc.

BTW, in you combi, if you use channel 10, you will need to make sure you have a drum kit assigned to that channel.

Ok.
Here we go...
In combi mode - click the "Page" button.
* Go to Page 3: Timbre Param (sorry was going to pictures, but can't)
Notice blue above each timbre is the timbre number 1 through to 8. Underneath that line is the status - either INT, EXT or BOTH. Underneath that is the channel assignment section. If you want two programs to play at the same time, the number should be same here - usually Gch (global midi channel I think). This is the bit to change.

I assume that you will put the drums on timbre 10 - this is on the next page. So..right at the bottom, choose the 2nd tab along, which says "MIDI 9-16"

This will give you timbres 9-16. Look for the midi channel assignment section again. Under timbre 10, change the midi channel to 10. Do by clicking on existing number and changing with the dial.
