How to record audio from sound module in PA4X?
I have a sound module (Korg TR Rack) connected to my PA4X.
It's midi'd to Upper 3 on channel 3 & my module receives midi on channel 3.
This works fine for playing in Style mode, I use it all the time.
In sequencer mode, when I play to make a recording (backing sequence / quick record), I can hear the sound from my module on Upper 3.
Just like playing in Style mode.
BUT: when I play back my recording in the sequencer, the audio from my module can no longer be heard.
I've had a look at the midi and audio settings, but whatever I try, I don't hear the audio from my module in Sequencer play mode.
When I make an mp3 of it: of course also no sound from my sound module.
I'm stuck. Anyone any idea to put me on the right track? Thanks in advance!

Hope i'm not teaching you to suck eggs but ....
How have you connected the Audio outputs from the module? If they don't go into the Korg PA's inputs then you will get no sound from the module to record. You are only telling the module to play via midi, the sound output from the module is going wherever you have connected the audio outputs to (mixer?), no sound is transmitted over midi only data.

The audio outputs from my module go to Line In 1 of PA4X.
As I mentioned, in Style mode, I can use and hear the sound of the module (both with my headphones and on the PAas speaker), so the audio from my module comes into the PA4X.
In sequencer mode, when I play (in backing sequence), I can also hear the sound from the module.
I've tested that with all tracks muted, except the external source track (in my case Upper 3).
The track just doesn't play back when I play the recording... then I don't hear the sound from my module anymore (?)
What is going wrong here, any idea?

I have global midi out, channel 3 set to Upper 3.Marcel Munter wrote:globel midi midi out player chanel 1/16 ??
My module is receiving from channel 3.
Audio out from module goes to Line In 1 from PA4X
As I mentioned, I can play and hear audio from my module when playing in Style mode.

You said you had checked the Audio connections but have you got the outputs routed to L+R as in Page 509 of the manual?
"Enabling the line audio input for MP3 recording
Go to the Global > Audio & Video > Audio In page, and be sure the Audio In
parameter is set to Line.
In the same page, be sure the Audio Out parameter is set to L + R.
This will send the line inputs to the internal MP3 recorder, and disconnects
the Mic input."
It will not record to mp3 if the Line input is routed to outputs 1 + 2
Just a thought.

Yes, these settings are all as stated in the manual (I double checked, but I had configured this OK already).
So still no sound from my module when playing back a recording.

Hi Marcel, yep, you nailed it on the head, that is the trick, thank you so much for helping me out.Marcel Munter wrote:in seqencer mode set midi out channel 3 to player 1
then you hear your module
So I need to change this everytime in Global - Midi (from Up3 to player 1, track 3) when I made a recording, right?
And then, for making the recording, change it back to Up3?
Kind of unlogical to me... but, hey, it works!
Or is there a way/trick to configure this automatically or more permanent?
(So you don't have to think of it all the time?)
In Global - Midi - Midi Out channel you can only pick one of them.

Yes, I've selected Line In.
See posts above.
Thanks to Marcel, the solution is found.
