Hi Shadowhankron, I think that the info that you need is in the following thread:
http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... de&start=0
Also, even though it doesn't actually clearly instruct to do so in the PDF upgrade notes that accompany the files, Pete (Karmathanever) and others have suggested that after one upgrades to v2.0 (and before one then subsequently upgrade to 2.01) that you should do a full factory restore.
I'm personally not 100% sure why it would be necessary but I did it myself, as it can only help to ensure that the whole OS is as stable as possible I guess (and can't really cause any problems, from what I can see).
Also, ensure that you fully backup all (by using 'Save all") of your files before you load v2.0 AND from memory (according to Paulo from Korg) DON"T use the load all feature (after you've installed v2.0) to re-load your pre v2.0 stuff, as this may potentially install the old factory sounds etc. over the new v2.0 factory sounds. His exact quote, which I've just found is:
"Hi,
This time, the OS update WILL FORMAT the internal system memory (KORG SYS). This is the memory where the Factory and User data are stored. The KORG DISK and KORG HD drive will not be formatted.
You can use the Save All procedure to save all the User data, that you will then be able to reload as individual elements or banks.
Please don't use the Backup function, nor the Load All procedure to save and restore the data. Everything is detailed in a document accompanying the new OS.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but this is a deep update.
Paolo"
There are a few threads on the forum that give this info but from memory it was a little bit dispersed across various topics/threads, so, I've done my best to give you what I can remember were the key points/steps.
Hope this helps.
Good luck with the update and make 100% sure that your power supply is not interrupted mid update as this can really screw up your Kbd! The update takes some time to fully load/install, so give it the time that it needs and don't stop it part way through.
Best wishes,
Jon

is this what upgrade to 2.0 requires
So as far as I understand the procedure is as follows..
(1) Do a Save All to usb to save data on keyboard. MEDIA > SAVE > ALL
(2) Then Turn off keyboard
(3)Press Intro 1 while holding Power on Button
(4) System Set Up will appear on the screen
(5) Then follow do Screen Calibration
(6) Screen changes to Install either PKG file or UPD file
(7) Select the file from my USB stick then Install.....loading can take approx 40 mins..then keyboard reboots.
(8). before trying to do 2.0.1 upgrade do a SAVE All on usb...then as far as I understand factory restore...before loading the latest upgrade..to 2.0.1 OS...
can anyone verify that what I wrote is correct, please...if wrong please correct me.
once again Jon Thank You
regards
