Sound Editor - MIDI won't receive?

Hello,

Long story short, my USB port is completely broken so I need to be able to transfer and receive patches via MIDI. I've got my hands on an audio interface with MIDI I/O (ur22), so technically I should be able to transfer things without an issue.

However, here's the problem:
I can send use the R3 as a midi controller just fine in ableton, sibelius, etc, and patches from the editor to the R3 with no problem, BUT I cannot receive programs from the R3 inside the editor program.

Every time I try to receive a program, it just says "Failed to receive __" or "Receive program failed: Timeout".

If any midi expert here could help me solve this problem, it would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks.

The editor has been abandoned by Korg and does not work with recent operating systems, on the Mac at least.
