TR 61 sequencer help

Post by VinceGua »

Does anyone know how to create or duplicate the part for "won't get fooled again" by the Who? On a TR61? how do you make a note or notes repeat while holding them down? That seems to be how Pete Townsend achieved that patch. I'm not sure how to do that on a TR 61? We have a gig in a couple weeks and it would be easier if i could make it work this way than having to play the 8th notes throughout the whole song which i can do, but my wrist hurts by the end of the song. LOL Thank You for your help in advance, it's probably an easy fix, but I'm relatively new to the TR 61 world.

The sound is basically an organ sound, triggered using an arpeggiator, to get the repeating notes, and then the sound passed through a phaser effect that is modulated using an LFO whose waveform is a series of steps (the TR LFO has 10 variants, called Step Triangle, Step Saw, and Random), thus creating the "sample and hold" phasing effect.

Thanks, are there any training videos on how to do that?

There's one on using the arpeggiators - there's a Part 1 and a Part 2.

Refer to the Operation Guide and Parameter Guide for using effects and LFOs.
