Volca FM patch transfer via audio cable

Has anyone successfully transfer sysex patches to the volca fm via audio cable?

There are some youtube videos show this working, but I'm at a look as to how to send patches with a MacBook (no midi or DAW)

Yes I have done that myself. Remember audio into sync-in, but I do not know where you can get the presets from other than another Volca FM or a recorded backup signal which I used. I think the best way is to transfer over midi with dexed in a vst host., lots of good patches in dexed too.

I've got an app for iOS called FM buddy which supposedly can send sysex using audio to the sync in but I can't get it to work. All that happens is some super fast step movement. Anyone had any luck with this app?
