Digital out from kronos to digital in on audio interface ?

Post by Burydudexxx »

Can anyone please point me in the right direction. The digital out from my kronos does not go into my audio interface (Roland Octa Capture 1010) - it seems to have a different type of digital input port ? I'm new to trying out the digital output. Any pointers guys ?

The Kronos' SPDIF ins and outs are optical, i.e. use optical fibre with TosLink connectors, whilst the Roland Octa Capture's digital audio is via copper coax using phono plug connectors, so a direct interconnection is not possible.

A two channel optical (TosLink) to coax converter could be used to interconnect the two devices digitally, since both devices are claimed to conform to IEC60958. The Octa-Capture will need to be set to 48kHz sample rate, to match that of the Kronos, and two phono to phono coax cables plus two optical cables with TosLink connectors on each end, would also be needed.

Something like the Roofull converter should do it.
