Thanks... I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but if you load a PCG file with programs AND combis, and you change programs (e.g. by copying/sorting etc), the combis will automatically be changed accordingly.jochner wrote:Thanks a lot for the librarian and amount of work you have spent for the sake of us korg users!
Some suggestions for improvements))
Is there any chance to make such thing in PCG tool that after re-organizing patch/voice list of X-50 in the Programm mode , COMBi would automatically receive new locations of the Programms when synchronized with X -50 and new patch locations of PCG file?
Thanks in advance!
Ivan

I mean if i change places of many patches in Programm mode will Combi use new locations of the Voices ?
If yes.that's great!
(Last time i did huge reorganizing of my favourites list so later on my Combis were a mess))
Thanks

I just am not sure if PCG Tools will read any X50/microX file. I heard it was compatible with Triton which is supported, so you have to check it yourself (I don't have an X50/microX).jochner wrote:Thanks for reply!

Than I should have update the support page (already long ago):jochner wrote:Yes, PCG tools perfectly work with X-50

So here is some update information about compatibility of PCG tools and Korg X-50.
1.PCG tools DO change the list of voices in Program mode and synchronise them with Korg x-50/
2. But PCG DONT synchronize newly relocated VOICES with COMBIS. ( All combis use wrong voices and sound messy.) Even mooving one VOICE makes all Combis go wrong.
I know maybe PCG tools are not fully supported for Korg X-50 but would be nice thing for them to be!)))
Thanx
Ivan

I'm afraid I don't understand the difference (I don't know in detail how an X-50 works). What is the difference with 'newly relocated voices' (case 2) and item 1?jochner wrote:So here is some update information about compatibility of PCG tools and Korg X-50.

For example I want to make my Voice Performance list.
I am swapping two voices with their places:
"Grand Piano A001 " goes to "Pad A004" .
Now my voice list looks like : "Pad A001" ." Grand Piano A004"
Then my COMBI " Grand and Pads " uses Voice A 001 as a Grand piano.
If i move Voice A001 to new location A 004, my COMBI DOES NOT use this A004 Grand piano, it will use OLD location of the voice A001
So Voice list which i make and reorganize for my convenience sake IS NOT synchronizing AUTOMATICALLY with COMBI.
COMBI use old locations of voice banks etc. and i have to relocate new voices MANUALLY inside COMBI i use.

I never heard of 'voices', but I guess you mean program. How do you change the program? On your X-50 or within PCG Tools? Since if you change it on your X-50, than PCG Tools cannot know that you changed it.jochner wrote:michelkeijzers wrote:

So you should do all of your program movemements within PCG Tools.

In the situation where it does not work, how exactly do you 'move' a program? with up/down? Can you send maybe the PCG file than I can try to reproduce it at home.jochner wrote:Everything is done using PCG tools. Then saved as a PCG file and imported via Korg x 50 Editor.

Yes i did move Programs up and down with arrow , i did not find other option for this purpose .
( The Korg X-50 PCG file i am sending is the GOOD saved file from Korg x-50 editor which is supposed to be loaded and should sound right .)
The SECOND Korg file has got moved some Programs within A00 -A10 Bank and as a result has wrong sounding COMBIS .

I found indeed a serious problem, but I need more time to check into this.jochner wrote:Yes i did move Programs up and down with arrow , i did not find other option for this purpose .

Thanks for the notification.
It only seems to recongnize programs with A000, not A001-A127

I found out that both files are corrupt somehow. They all have program IDs 0. I tried several correct Triton files which have the same format and those behave correctly.jochner wrote:Yes i did move Programs up and down with arrow , i did not find other option for this purpose .

I wonder how you get those files... What might be a problem is that the editor from Korg mixes something up. Can you give me your email address and some time to help me analyze the problem (if there is one).
Btw, I found a problem in the Korg Z1 reader.

The PCG Tools website will from now on be part of KronosHaven, a website for Korg Kronos fans.
Of course PCG Tools will still support other models, but since the most users are Kronos users, that website seems very applicable.
It can be found here: https://www.kronoshaven.com/pcgtools/
