Using PA4X styles in PA1000 and PA700
Can you use the styles residing in the PA4X as well in the PA700 ( and PA1000).
I am also referrring to the style sets made available by Korg itself for the PA4X, currently the latest one being set 28. Can you load them onto the PA700 for those who already play the PA700 ?
thanks,
John

although I do not own a Pa700, I think all these styles which you asked should also be compatible with the Pa700 (Manual Pa700, Page 882).
Of course, StyleNumbers are not at the same style-memory position of eachs model and therefore links to Songbook Entries are to change accordingly.
It is the same with sounds/multisamples/samples used in style tracks that do not exist in memory of a target device Pa700.
But hope your questions could be answered more reliable from an owner of a Pa700, who has already practiced loading such styles.
kind regards

i do not own a pa700 but i have a pa4x and a pa1000 and a full bank of styles from the pa4 fit right in the pa1000..some sounds are missing but the pa 1000 fill in the blank with the GM sound ,,, thank you korg for this ,,, so now guitar 88 sound is now GM guitar 1.. and you can change if you like ...
styles set 28 should work fine ,, songbook pick will not be right , but you fix that also...

thank you guys for your speedy replies.
I was going to order the PA1000 but have in so far changed my mind that I am first going to give the PA700 a try. After all many of the extras that are provided by the PA1000 I do not need, though I will miss the vocal harmonizer.
But that can be added externally I guess by purchasing a TC Helicon.
Of course aftertouch is also something that won't be there which is a shame.
What I am most interested in/ worried about is whether those samples that are in both keyboards also sound the same, or whether Korg has shortened those samples in the PA700 version. Probably not, and most likely they have spent the extra 1 Gb on the second acoustic piano and some extra guitars.
All in all we are talking about more than 700 euros difference in price, which should be apparent somewhere I guess.
Thanks again guys.
regards,
John
P.S. as you know the PA1000 still not available in Europe, but will be launched by the end of February......

Pa700
I've had the Pa700 since November was one of the first to reach the uk. It maybe the entry level of the new range but I think it packs a punch above its weight. But like every Korg it needs to be tweaked to suite your taste. I've used the Pa4x styles in it and they seem to work fine as do styles from previous models.
Pleased to hear so. All in all it will be a toss up for me I think as I do need a vocaliser and of course the PA1000 has one on board already. But then I would guess that with a margin of 700 euros I could easily add a vocaliser/harmonizer to the PA700 and still save a few hundred quid. We'll see but for now I will first give the 700 a try, hope to get one next week.

John
