Volca Sample background hummmmmm

Post by DannyDarko »

I bought a used Sample OK Go, to complement my Volca Bass. Besides some hiss (which is fine by me), there is a very noticeable background hum all the time. It even records the hum, so it's not a headphone thing. I hear hummmmmmm... I twisted all knobs to see if it would make any effect. The hum response a little in volume when I twist the sample selection knob, but it never goes away. I read some older posts about hiss and hum. I wonder if there is something wrong with my unit and/or if there is a fix... Hate the hum. Hate it!

They dont normally humm, sounds like yours is faulty. Is it the same on batteries and power supply (if you use one)?

Same with batteries, no difference. When cranking up the volume you can hear the hum (besides the hiss).

I get this aswell. It doesnt happen all the time though. If I take the batteries out and put them back in it sometimes fixes it. Very annoying.

I sometimes notice a tiny bit of a hum from my Sample as well. It's plugged into a keyboard amp with a summing cable (the mono end has a resistor in it), and it shares a power supply with a Monologue. The humming is only really noticeable when there's no sound, but it does increase a bit whenever I press a button.
