MicroSD Slot and its function

Post by vipinpvarghese »

Dear All,
I am expected to receive my new PA 700 shipped to me in 5 days' time. I am from India and now live in Saudi Arabia.
I see that Indian version of PA 700 comes with a MicroSd card with Indian tones and styles.
My question is, can i simply purchase a microsd card use with PA 700?
IS there an option to download Indian tones and styles and to use with this MicroSD card?

Basically, what is the purpose of MicroSD card when we have USB available in the Keyboard.

Hi there. Congrats on buying a pa700..

With regard to the sd card. You can purchase another sd card and use that to backup or store files. However, as you are being supplied with an sd card with additional data on it, I would use that through Direct Access as permanent access to those styles etc and then use a usb drive for all additions through Media as it's more convenient to add files to usb drive from computer. :)

@mrniceneasy
First of all thank you very much for replying to me. I am excited that a senior member like you replying to a beginner.... I have already downloaded your converted files from PA 4x to use in the new PA 700 :D

Does all PA 700 come with MicroSD pre-installed? I have ordered it from Germany through Thomann.de I am not sure whether it will have MicroSD already present inside.

I believe that it's only the pa700 Oriental that has an addon from Thomanns. My pa700 UK didn't include an sd card.

Stay with this Forum as it has a lot of knowledgeable people here that are willing to help. I'm sure that you will enjoy your new keyboard... :)

You may like to see my korgpaHelpsite and of course Korg have produced some very good Help videos on youtube...

Thanks....
I had already bookmarked your site even before ordering PA 700 8)
Waiting for PA 700 to be delivered to use and learn. I have been using Yamaha series for a long time. Only Korg key I have used is N364

By the way is there a download option for oriental or country specific tones ans styles so that we can use them with a microSD in PA 700?

Follow the manuals instructions for installing the micro SD card, format it in the 700, remove it to your computer and add whatever files you want to it.

I have a 128Gb card in my 700 and all my music collection is on the card so I can select an mp3 file and play along with it.

There is a function in the 700 that even removes the lead vocal or it changes it more into a backing vocal.

Do subscribe to the Korg World magazine there are great articles in there on the PA series for which it is the dedicated mag.

Korg UK have a download that converts the songbook titles from their cryptic versions to actual names and artists, this is well worth installing.

MicroSD Card, specs?q

Post by PaulgroK »

I have plans for installing a MicroSD Card, but cannot find specs on the Card.
What kind of Card can be used? What is the largest size I can use.
It does not say in the User manual.
"Together" works best!
